Muslim centre denounces petrol bomb attack
2007-08-06
Milan, 6 August (AKI) - An Islamic centre near Milan in northern Italy has condemned what it says was a fire bomb attack near its premises in the early hours of Monday morning. "Hey, knock it off! Who do you think we are, infidels?"
"Just after midnight an unidentified group carried out a clear terrorist attack in which a molotov cocktail was hurled at a car parked near the entrance of the Islamic Centre of Milan and Lombardy", the center said in a statement. "When the imam emerged from the centre following the explosion, the group launched a second molotov cocktail towards the burning vehicle, in an apparent attempt to committ grievous bodily harm against the imam, who thank God, was not hurt", it added.
Maybe the car was the target and not your mosque?
The imam allegedly targeted in the attack was a replacement for Ali Abu Shweima, the imam who runs the centre situated in Segrate, on the outskirts of Milan. Shweima is on vacation, the centre said.

According to the centre which also runs a mosque, the incident is the latest in a series on Muslim targets, including an arson attack against the offices of a charity, Islamic Relief; death threats against a charity worker, Abdullah Gonzaga; anti-Muslim graffiti on walls and the verbal abuse of a woman wearing a Muslim headscarf. The centre said the media should also be held responsible for the attacks because "what has happened can be linked to a demonisation campaign against Islam and Muslims carried out by certain information outlets at national level".

#4  Terror against muzlimbs?

That's beyond the bounds of good taste!

#3  They are only outraged when someone pitches a fire bomb on a car "near" an islamic cultural center. Time to parade out "rage boy." I recall dancing in the streets when the Towers fell--not an iota of concern or outrage when that happened. My sympathy meter just went off the bottom of the scale.

#2  Nope, Zenster, not a chirrup. Says it all, but some too deaf to hear even the silence.

Rock on.

#1  I trust that they've been equally vociferous in denouncing 9-11, Bali, Madrid, Bali, London and all those other deplorable atrocities as well. What? No?
