 The special UN fact-finding committee into Israeli reported inhuman practices against the people of the occupied Golan Heights on Friday arrived to the Qoneitra district to check on such alleged reports. The head of the committee, Sri Lanka's Ambassador to the UN Parsad Wassam told reporters that the special committee was launched in 1968 and has been visiting the areas once a year to check on reports of alleged "serious violations" to human rights by Israeli occupation troops against the Arabs. Wassam expressed gratitude to Syria's cooperation with the special committee and stressed that the facts compiled so far supported the claims of inhuman treatment.
