China tightens control of Tibetan Buddhism | |

China on Friday announced new regulations to tighten controls over Tibet, saying, "All the reincarnations of living Buddhas of Tibetan Buddhism must get government approval, otherwise they are illegal or invalid," state media reported.

#2 China's State Administration for Religious Affairs (SARA) issued a set of regulations on reincarnation of Tibetan living Buddhas I can see it now: 1. One reincarnation only to a customer. 2. May not be doubled, no duplicate lifetimes will be honored. 3. Only one spin at the Wheel of Dharma™ per applicant. 4. All entrants must be willing to undergo prolonged starvation. 5. No Uighurs need apply. 6. No robe, no haircut, no sandals, no service. |
