#9  That 'fisrt' isn't 'first', it's FIST.

#8  would've been better if I hadn't mangled "first". I guess it's the second syllable that trips me up

#7  That about sums it up, Frank. I saw that "can't" comment and thought the same thing. Give that man A ticket to the bread line.

#6  Chertoff has raised the stakes, claiming he/DHS/ICE "just can't do their job" intercepting and deporting illegals. He and upper/middle management need a house clearing. Anyone that says "can't" should be fired on the spot. Promote BP agents/ICE investigators and clear out the deadwood/illegal apologists/Chamber of Commerce tools. Chertoff fisrt.

#5  Wild ass speculation on my part:

They are up to their eyeballs trying to keep track of the Hizb'allah, Al Q. and other agents they already know are here. If they are tasked with deporting the 12 million illegals, it would throw the whole system into such chaos that they would be less able to protect us against identified threats.

#4  Hard on org crime but wants to allow 12 million lawbreakers to stay and uses rhetoric involving lettuce to make his case? Fairly counter-intuitive I'd say. There's prolly some money angle.

#3  Can't say he exactly fell off of a turnip truck. He certainly is stuck on passing the immigration bill.

#2  He was a prosecutor under Giuliani in NYC, took on the Mafia cleanup there. US attorney for NY, then Court of Appeals judge. Then federal prosecutor and asst Attorney General.

Co-authored the Patriot Act.

#1  I saw Chertoff fawn over Ted Kennedy calling him a genius or some such thing when the immigration bill was trying to be shoved down our collective throats. Yesterday, he chided the Senate for not passing the immigration bill.

I have no confidence in this guy to run Homeland Security. What is his background? What turnip truck did he fall off of?
