I knew it couldn't just be the mint chocolate chip icecream.

#12  I either drive or travel. Not both at the same time, so y'all are safe so long as you stay away from my part of the world.

#11  She's not the only one, Steve. They do that here in DC, too.

Or maybe Trailing Wife travels?

Aha! You were the one holding up traffic on Austin Boulevard yesterday morning!

#9  Color coordinating your cosmetics with those Hawaiian shirts must be a cast iron twitch!

#8  Frank, you forgot to list the half hour or so it takes to pick just the right Hawaiian shirt each morning. I've gotten pretty good at applying make-up at stop lights, and my hairdresser has strict orders the cut has got to be wash'n'wear -- I'm hair-retarded, and can't figure out how to do all those fancy things requiring spray bottles and electrical equipment. ;-)

#6  me to Frank, us Marines like to look pretty and well put-together......though some jarheads prefer pert plus - just wash and go :)

#5  I often spend 15+ minutes on makeup and 20-30 minutes on my hair, but then again, I'm an Engineer, and have an image to maintain

#4  Wondered about that too, SB. I'm pretty minimalist but I know a lot who aren't.

Let's see: face cream/lotion, eye cream, mascara, eye shadow, under-eye coverup, foundation, blush, powder, lipstick, shampoo, conditioner, mousse, hairspray, hand cream, neck cream, night cream, eye makeup remover, nail polish, topcoat, polish remover, fake nail stuff, skin bronzer/fake tan, depilatory ...

Hazmat if you put all that stuff on regularly, I guess.

#3  I'm just wondering what they count as part of the 20 different "beauty products". Deodorant? Soap? I just can't think of 20 different kinds of goo to plaster on my face and/or hair, and I used to spend an hour on my hair (back in the late 80's, ok....I was a silly teenager with "big hair", so cut me some slack. I'm better now....)

BTW, Barbara, check your email, and thanks!

#2  I'll just say that cosmetics were a lot more likely of a culprit than what I hoped thought they might be ingesting.

#1  "Many use more than 20 different beauty products a day"

Many also have way too much time on their hands.

When I decided I wanted to get my long hair cut (rather than sit through another perm), I started looking around for a style that would be simple, easy to care for, and easy to keep off my face (that part's very important).

I mentioned this to one woman during an open house at a salon and she asked in a shocked tone, "You mean you're not willing to spend 15 minutes in the morning on your hair?" She just about had a heart attack when I told her that I don't spend 15 minutes in the morning on my hair, makeup, and getting dressed for the office. (And I do wear regular office-type attire.)

We each get the same 24 hours in every day....
