Indian police in revolt-hit Kashmir said on Thursday they had arrested 14 suspected militant bomb-makers blamed for a string of political killings.Police said the arrests were a major setback for Hizbul Mujahideen. “The arrests were made on a tip off on the cell involved in bomb making and the killing of over a dozen people,” said B Srinivas, police chief of Baramulla district where the arrests were made. Police said the militants were involved in the murder of a senior Congress party leader in Baramulla district this year. They were also suspected of carrying out roadside blasts using mobile telephones, and police said the arrest operation also netted a large cache of arms, ammunition and explosives. |
