| Iran to install 3000 centrifuges |

| IRAN plans to install 3000 centrifuges for uranium enrichment by March 2007, despite international calls to freeze controversial nuclear work, the Iranian foreign ministry said overnight. "Iranian officials and experts are seeking to do this," the ministry's spokesman, Mohammad Ali Hosseini said, responding to a question as to whether Tehran remains determined to install the centrifuges by the end of the Iranian year in March, 2007. Iran so far has built two cascades of 164 centrifuges for uranium enrichment, which is the process used to make nuclear fuel and, in much higher grades, the core of a weapon. |

Iran will keep on plugging away, of course, and we will do whatever it is that we're doing - and nobody here knows precisely what that encompasses. That it will prolly turn out to be too little or too late or both is the CW. We will see if it's accurate when the Next Big Thing happens. |

| #1 3000 P1 centrifuges at 3 SWU each gives enough HEU to produce 3 15kg bombs/year or 2 larger, more conservative bombs per year. The Iranians will be producing 1 per month before we stop arguing among ourselves. |
