Pakistan confirms killing of citizens in Iraq |

(KUNA) -- Pakistan Saturday confirming the reports from Iraq regarding a terrorist attack on a bus of pilgrims in Kerbala, said it has instructed its ambassador in Jordan to ascertain number of killed Pakistanis. The foreign office immediately instructed "our ambassador in Jordan to establish contacts with the Iraqi authorities to ascertain the number of Pakistanis killed in the terrorist attack," said the office in a statement. The embassy is also establishing contacts with Pakistani survivors of the attack for their early evacuation, the statement said. Pakistan strongly condemns this terrorist act. The President and the Prime Minister have condoled the death of Pakistani pilgrims in this terrorist attack. Security situation in Iraq remains difficult. "We advise Pakistanis intending to travel to Iraq to postpone their visit and those who are already there to take necessary precautionary measures," the statement added. |
