Lebs fear what will happen once all foreigners are evacuated
2006-07-20
Frightened civilians in Lebanon fear Israeli bombing will get worse once the evacuation of thousands of foreign nationals is completed.

Yesterday about 1,100 American evacuees who left Beirut by sea and air reached Cyprus. They were the largest group of US citizens to have been rescued from Lebanon in a single day. France said about 8,000 of its 17,000 citizens resident in Lebanon had asked to be evacuated. Germany sent at least 500 citizens by bus to Syria.

But Lebanese civilians, including 37-year-old costume designer Ziad Nayef, say nobody cares about Arab lives. "I have a very bad feeling that after the foreigners flee the bombings will get worse," he said.

#5  And they're leaving in a hurry... time is up for Hezbollah..

Foreigners of mainly Indian nationality queue up next to the INS Mumbai, as they wait to be evacuated at the Beirut port, Lebanon as thousands of foreigners continued in their attempts to flee the country. The Indian Navy today launched its largest-ever civilian evacuation operation overseas, pulling out over 700 Indians and nationals of some other countries from the trouble-torn country by one of the four warships sent for the rescue mission. The evacuees are being ferried to Larnaca in Cyprus by INS Mumbai, which reached the Beirut port earlier in the day as part of the mission -- 'Operation Sukoon'. After reaching Larnaca tomorrow morning, they will be airlifted to India by special flights of Air India. Two more warships -- INS Shakti and INS Betwa -- are near the Beirut port and will enter the harbour one by one to rescue about 12,000 Indians living in Lebanon. Over 100 have already been evacuated by road to the Syrian capital Damascus.

#4  Phase 2. Landings and paratroopers take the area between Beirut and the Hezbollah territories and the IDF tanks roll in and clean the area. Perhaps troopers go into Baaka valley as well.

Phase 3. IDF returns to Israel and allows the Lebanese military to fill the vacuum behind them. US offers a ton of aid to help rebuild Lebanon.

#2  Correction for Ziad: the Persian masters of Hizb'Allah don't care about your life and Arab lives in general.

If you have a bad feeling about Israel bombing Hizb'Allah, maybe you shouldn't have tolerated them for so long, and maybe you shouldn't stand next to them, and maybe you should demand that your political leaders start denouncing Hizb'Allah instead of blaming Israel.

Lebanon was destroyed by Paleo islamofascists, looted by Syrians, and is used as a host by Iran for Hizb'Allah. All of it with the goal of destroying Israel. Who do you blame?

#1  Dear Lebs:
Fear not. This is the plan. Step 1: The democratic nation, that has been suffering attacks from the terrorist group which your nation harbors and under whose boot you suffer, is going to do everything it can to eliminate that group. Step 2: The Israelis will leave. Step 3: Though you will complain to high heaven about the evilosity of these Jooooos you will have your country back and if you grow a little backbone the Syrian influence within your borders will wither and die.

p.s. The only part of this plan that the rest of the civilised world is worried about has to do with you and the backbone.
