Police Friday arrested eight militants including an arms smuggler in a raid in Southwestern Baluchistan province and recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from their possession, officials said. Salman Syed Mohammad, police officer Quetta, the provincial capital, at a press conference said that a police party acting on a tip off, raided the house in Aminabad area of the city and arrested a notorious smuggler, Azam Raisani, along with seven nationalist militants. He said a large cache of arms and ammunition including 155 RPG rockets, 143 small low explosive tubes, three large low explosive tubes, one LMG tripod, 18934 live rounds of LMG, 13920 live rounds of SMG and three rifles of 303 bores were recovered in the raid.
He said further that Azam Raisani is a notorious gunrunner, who smuggles arms and ammunition from Afghanistan and sells them to various terrorist groups involved in bomb blasts and rocket firings in the province.
