Pakistanis killed in Iraq: Bodies arrive today |
2006-05-30 |
The bodies of two Pakistanis killed in Iraq will be flown from Kuwait to Pakistan today (Tuesday) and will then be sent to their native villages for burial. Nasir Iqbal, a Gujarat resident, and Muhammad Muneer, a Wazirabad resident, were sleeping in an American base when insurgents attacked the area with rockets. Both men died on the spot. "Iqbal and Muneer were employed at the camp as labourer and electrician," said a Foreign Office spokesman. "Both succumbed to multiple injuries sustained by them in the attack. We offer our deep condolences to the bereaved families," he said. The Pakistan Embassy in Kuwait handed the bodies to their heirs after preparing the documents required. The bodies will be flown to Pakistan through Kuwait Airways. |
