ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said the two F-16 aircraft that landed in Pakistan on Tuesday were presented by the US as âa goodwill gesture and are probably freeâ. BBC Urdu service quoted Rashid as saying on Wednesday that the delivery was part of the F-16 deal between the US and Pakistan, which was postponed by President Pervez Musharraf due to the October 8 earthquake. ââThe planes have been given to Pakistan as a goodwill gesture and are probably free,â Rashid said,â BBC Urdu service added. âHe said the deal could be delayed for two to four months,â it reported. daily times monitor |
