US Troops Preparing to Storm Mosul
2005-07-27
From Jihad Unspun
In a dispatch posted at 5:40pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in Mosul reported that it had become known that massive US column under air cover provided by American warplanes was, at that moment, headed towards the city from Baghdad in the south. The correspondent reported that more than 200 US vehicles along with large numbers of Marines and commandos were heading towards the city to storm Mosul from the south. Meanwhile, US forces already deployed in the city had closed the five main bridges in the city, and were preventing anyone coming in or going out of Mosul.

#23  Well I'll just hang out and let people assume Ima familiar with a Markov Chain. Which I am of couse. I'd just like to see what Markov is doing these days.

#22  that would be a fair compromise

#21  *ALL* JU posts need the Baghdad Bob graphic.

#20  then just a TALL TALE!

#19   Markov Chain - that's great! an event with a long tail. Stand it up and you have A TALL TAIL!

#18  you already know what I think. Someone who spent years (literally) defending Kofi and Friends just let it slide away when proof that he was defending criminals, thieves and liars who assisted a tyrant in killing his own people was finally brought out. No apologies, no I see the light", just slithered away....Now, he's back. I have no respect for him, and his persistence in pushing JU 2-3 times a day makes me dislike his motives and methods even less.

#17  I agree with Phil. We could make this a weekly feature, with a picture of Bagdad Bob, with some of the silliest claims. Reporting JU (oooooh, do they know what their initials spell?) straight is silly.

Of course, what I think isn't all that important, as I'm not the one spending hours and hours maintaining Rantburg. I'm happy with whatever Fred does.

#16  What is mike plain wrong about? I always thought he was posting the JU articles for giggle value.

Every indication is that Mikey believes it. For example, it took him quite a while to stop claiming there was absolutely nothing wrong with the Oil for Food program.

#15  I resemble that remark about people who drive cars! ;-) And, just for the record, I've engaged a pilot friend to replace me as primary driving instructor for the trailing daughters.

#14  great blog .com. I loved this line, "While terrorists on earth do their best to keep us down, men and women boarded a space ship in Florida today, and flew into space."

#13  Being English, I fear MS's irony glands are larger and more swollen than my own. Harumph.

#12  It's the lack of smartassery in his posts. It's too...antiseptic.

Mike's Oklahoma City series was a nice piece of work.

#10  Actually, if Mike could do more than just cut and paste... say, do a "Nuggets from Jihad Unspun" with snarky comments... it might be worthwhile. But at the moment it isn't, but you only find out after you've clicked the article that it's Yet More Jihad Unspun blather.

When in the past I pass on stuff from Pravda, I try to mark it in the subject line, so the disinterested and jaded can skip it.

#9  Let me add my voice to cingold's and Rafael's:
Quit posting from Jihad UnblownUp(fortoday)!
And MS, you are just plain wrong, as well.
If we want some agitprop from the enemy, all we have to do is surf over to JU (Do they know it spells "Jew"?) or turn on the TV or pick up a newspaper.
Old Media abounds with this alleged viewpoint of evil!

#8  The worst thing of all about the Jihad Unspun stuff is that it could all be written automatically by a Markov Chain computer program.

#7  It's been awhile, but let me dust this off and see if it still works . . .
No, Mike Sylwester, you're just plain wrong. Try citing some support for your lame positions.

Yep, still works. :)

#6  There could be a simple solution:

Mike, please stop posting stuff from Jihad Spunup. Thanks.

#5  This is the USA .com. The truth is an absolute defense. Since there is no truth to this articles information, there is no defence of it. Quite unlike your response which truthful and accurate.

One more point, This doesn't enlighten, inform or encourage the kind of debate anyone learns anything from. It's a jihadist propaganda article of the type that can be found all over the internet. We are all aware of their existance ( I hope). It's just wanking. It's the same kind of crap the TRANZIs post about their "victories". A waste of bandwidth.

#4  I don't have the exact CentCom numbers at hand, but I'd say the tens of thousands of US and Iraqi forces already there, kicking jihadi ass in the finest whack-a-tard tradition, would find the term "storm" quite amusing. Personally, I don't...

Truly a stupid post for those who are paying attention and reading far more honest and intelligent sources, such as Michael Yon - who is THERE. This article suffers from the "There's no there there." problem. It also fails the tests of being interesting, of peripheral / sidebar info value, or reality-based. It's just moronic. Y'know, not everyone should be permitted to drive the car (red: post articles), Dad. Some are just reckless, some are just blind, and some are so short-bus they just can't see over the steering wheel. This is a case in point.

Gosh, wait... Does telling the truth make me abusive? Gee, I always thought the truth was a sufficient defense from such asinine backstabbing and trollery. But this is a new day, full of PC toadies who play the Tranzi MultiCulti "All cultures are equal!" game with blog posters substituted into the equation. My bad. Excellent post! I'm thinking Blog Awards are in order! w00t! Please, moderators, shoot me before I offend again!

Pfeh. Wotta waste - in every respect.

#2  Methinks there will be "offensives" on a continuous basis from now til Dec. 15, if the transition schedule holds. Besides keeping the pressure on and harvesting the gains from that (enemy mistakes, more intel, disrupt enemy plans), it's a good way to test the NCOs and officers and to "blood" Iraqi units.
