| Suspected Islamist militants have killed five security officers in an ambush in western Algeria, said reports on Monday. Algerian newspaper, Liberte, reported that the five - police officers and forest rangers - were killed when their vehicle came under fire in Ain Defla region, 120km from the capital Algiers. The group had reportedly been returning from tackling a forest fire. Eight other officers were injured in the attack on Sunday. |
