| FBI sets up hot line for corruption tips |

| FBI officials said Wednesday that they had established a hot line to receive corruption tips regarding local, state and federal officials. Citizens may remain anonymous when calling the hot line, (800) 376-5991. The FBI investigates allegations of public corruption such as embezzlement, extortion, illegal campaign financing, misuse of official position and bribery. It does so at the federal, state and local levels, said Mark Mershon, special agent in charge of the San Francisco FBI office. |
