British Prime Minister Tony Blair has revealed crime and terrorism will be at the heart of his Government's program in the lead-up to the next general election. The Blair Government's plans to combat terrorism, drugs and anti-social behaviour have drawn accusations from opposition parties of scaremongering. However, Home Office Minister David Blunkett says the legislative proposals are aimed at making people feel more secure. Among the Government's priorities for the next parliamentary session are the introduction of national identity cards and the establishment of an FBI-style crime-fighting agency.
