| #4 Unfortunately, in Turkey as elsewhere in the Islamic world, it will be many years before honor killings are eliminated. In the rural areas, there will be honor killings with no one issueing a criminal warrant. It would probably take a major movement in Islam itself (say 95% of Imans issuing an unambiguous fatwa saying it was harem and saying that the perp will go to hell) to change this. |
