| July 1st, 2004 The United States has urged the International Atomic Energy Agency to investigate whether Syria was a client of the secret Pakistani nuclear weapons network. The most alarming evidence of Syrian involvement with Khan occurred in early 2004, sources said. They said the National Security Agency obtained signals that suggested that Damascus was operating gas centrifuges.
