| Canada’s "smother terrorism with kindness" approach to combatting militancy has made the country a haven for up-and-coming radicals, says the author of a new book. Oh! My GOD!! From British Columbia’s Talwinder Singh Parmar, believed to be behind the 1985 Air India bombing, to Ahmed Khadr, an Egyptian Canadian from Toronto who helped to finance 9/11 -- Stewart Bell’s Cold Terror: How Canada Nurtures and Exports Terrorism Around the World, chronicles the lives of international terrorists who have called Canada home and the political climate that has allowed them to do so. Well, at least someone’s noticing "A lot of these stories have been out there in bits and pieces before but when you sit down and read them chronologically and you stack up all the things one on top of the other, you really do shake your head and you wonder how this has gone on," Bell told the Sun. In his book, Bell alleges politicians have, knowingly or not, caroused with terror groups under the guise of politicking and how media coverage portraying the poor Canadian wives of suspected terrorists who swear their husbands are innocent is often misleading. Politicians, he said, are often afraid to speak out against terror organizations for fear of being perceived as anti-immigrant, intolerant or racist. We must be to-ler-ant to all groups...Multiculturalism at it’s finest Furthermore, he said Canada’s immigration system makes it impossible to effectively deal with immigrants and the new anti-terrorism law, while long overdue, fails to include several important terror groups.
