Putin says terrorist acts in Chechnya, Saudi Arabia are similar | |

Russian President Vladimir Putin has noticed similarities in the recent terrorist acts in Chechnya and Saudi Arabia.

#4 Just so you understand where I am coming from: Yes, the Chechens are mean, underhanded, nasty terrorist bombing, Islamic nut cases. However, the Chechen war and al Qaeda are different matters. Chechnya is attempting the break away from Moscow's orbit. This is a war of independence. I'm not saying these are nice people or somebody we want to curl up to (note: I'm not sayiong that about the Russians). However, the Russian actions in Chechnya are close to genocide. My book ROGUE STATE points this out. |

#3 As long as Vlad grinds the islamists in Chechnya. I've seen stories about al-Queda moving operations from Afghanistan and Iraq to Chechnya, and how many of these fundos trained and fought there. It is the same war. |
