| ISAF HQ rocketed in Kabul |

| A rocket slammed into the headquarters of international peacekeepers in the Afghan capital of Kabul late Sunday, police said. Afghan police spokesman Haroon Safi said there were no immediate reports of injuries. The compound of the International Security Assistance Force is located across the street from the heavily fortified U.S. Embassy. A second rocket hit the Pul-e-Charkhi area, on the eastern edge of Kabul. The blast woke up residents in the city's Wazir Akbar Khan neighborhood. Ambulance sirens could be heard and police were investigating. Asafi said the rockets were fired from several miles east of the capital. Kabul is patrolled by nearly 5,000 international peacekeepers, but there have been frequent attacks in recent months blamed on Taliban and al Qaida fugitives and forces loyal to renegade rebel leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar. | #5 Kalle, from what I've read the Danish armed forces haven't been bitten by the SD bug. I read a jocular, humorous account (can't find it to link, of course) about a group of Danish SF, stationed in Bosnia as peacekeepers, who got tired of being shelled by the Serb milita and took a Viking approach to solving their problem. Man, did they ever. I've also read that, among all the Euro peacekeepers, the Danes are the most-heavily armed and by far the nastiest. You don't screw with them. I like 'em already! So send the Danes to Afghan-land, give the locals one warning, and then turn 'em loose. |

| #3 Vikings were Norse, Danes, and Swedes. They sailed from Scandinavia in different directions (to simplify: West, South, and East). Unfortunately they've all been infected by something called "social-democracy" aka Bismarck's lutheran welfare state. Not many real Vikings left. Maybe the best ones emigrated to North America. |

| #1 First opportunity we get, we need to get some of our special forces back into Afghan land and start kicking some serious butt. I appreciate what our allies are doing in ISAF but wonder if they're playing things too safe. If we can't do it, perhaps the Danes could send some |
