| The US meanwhile has also put the Jamaat-e-Islami in the watch list suspecting alleged links with Al-Qaeda. If they read Rantburg, they'd have put them on January a year ago, at the latest... The religious parties in Pakistan, already furious over possibility of US attack on Iraq, have shown strong reaction to the arrest of Sheikh Khalid Mohammed and others. The Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal led by Maulana Shah Ahmed Noorani vows to fight the "aggressor" US until the end. Noorani heads the Jamaat e-Ulema Pakistan (JUP). Its secretary general signed Binny's declaration of war on us. Noorani, JUP, and all of the MMA's component organizations should be on the watchlist. |
