| Forty-seven sentenced to lashes for dealing in porn |

| A court in Iran has sentenced 47 people to lashes and closed down their videoclub for selling "indecent and obscene films", the Afarinesh newspaper reported Thursday. The prosecutor general of Khuzestan province, Amir Abbas Sohrab, said the conviction followed a massive sweep by 1,000 police and Revolutionary Guards of 102 videoclubs in the southwestern city of Ahvaz. They wasted the time of a thousand coppers, looking for skin flicks? He added that during the crackdown, young protestors angered over the operation clashed with police. He said some 100 people had been arrested and were still being detained. It was not clear how many lashes the convicted porn dealers would be subjected to. The sale and rental of films is severely restricted in Islamic Iran, with movies subject to strict censorship procedures. When the ayatollahs have all been hung, the Medes and the Persians can watch all the teletitties they want. |

| #3 It was not clear how many lashes the convicted porn dealers would be subjected to. If it was Rob Halford dealing these flicks, he'd definitely be into the lashes part of the punishment... |
