US Consulate bomb suspect arrested |
2002-09-18 |
Pakistani police have arrested six men in Karachi, one of whom is suspected of involvement in suicide bomb attacks in the city. Sharib Zubair was held by the police after a raid on a house in Karachi. "Whoo, boy! Does it stink in here! Whoops! There's another mujahid! Stick 'em up! What's your name, little fellow?" Police say he is wanted in connection with attacks outside the US Consulate in Karachi on 14 June and the Sheraton Hotel in the city on 8 May. Sharib is believed to belong to the Harkat-ul Mujahideen al-Alaami which officials say is an offshoot of the Harkat-ul Mujahideen, one of the main guerrilla groups fighting Indian rule in the disputed region of Kashmir. Probably also known as al-Qanoon... |

#3 Well, he's a mufti. He checked in the Koran, and it said rocket launchers were okay, as long as they're under 122mm... |

#2 This from BBC: "Sharib Zubair and another of the arrested men, Mufti Zubair, had secretly installed a rocket launcher on the rooftop of their apartment block, police sources said." Nothing like trying to keep a low profile. |
