Jeff Goldstein reminds us that Godless Americans™ are marching on Washington. Godless Americans™ claim to represent the 13% of the population that has no religion. This includes millions who identify themselves with labels such as Atheist, Freethinker, Humanist and others. There are over 30,000,000 of us, a figure larger than most American religious denominations. And it's time for us to be heard! Jeff, who doesn't attend services at the same Cathedral of Agnosticism that I don't, does them the favor of hollering their message so they can save the busfare. I'd point out that most of those 30 million probably aren't atheists, but our fellow congregants (or non-congregants, as it were...); but I'm overwhelmed by strong feelings of apathy. I think I'll go lie down instead. |
