March 14 Urges Suleiman to Call for Hizbullah Withdrawal from Syria
[An Nahar] A delegation from the March 14 alliance on Tuesday handed President Michel Suleiman...before assuming office as President, he held the position of commander of the Leb Armed Forces. That was after the previous commander, the loathesome Emile Lahoud, took office as president in November of 1998. Likely the next president of Leb will be whoever's commander of the armed forces, too... a memo that calls for Hizbullah's "immediate" pullout from Syria and the deployment of the Lebanese army along the border with the war-torn country. The delegation to Baabda Palace was headed by al-Mustaqbal ... the Future Movement, political party led by Saad Hariri... bloc leader MP Fouad Saniora, who later held a presser at the parliament along with several March 14 MPs to reveal the details of the memo, its second to Suleiman in nine months.
