Americans Favor Fifteen Dollars an Hour for Congress
[NEWYORKER] Americans took to the streets in large numbers on Thursday to show their support for a fifteen-dollar-an-hour wage for members of Congress.

In major cities across the nation, fast-food workers and other service employees held signs, shouted chants, and gave impassioned speeches to demonstrate their conviction that Congress deserves a maximum hourly wage of fifteen dollars.

“Members of Congress are people, just like you and me,” Tracy Klugian, a McDonald’s employee who took part in the Washington protest, said. “They should be paid what they deserve.”

#1  “They should be paid what they deserve.”

Careful, pal. I'm not sure you want to go there.

#2  That is why they are owned and operated by their campaign donors. Note well, that when they decide to retire, that fund becomes personal assets.

#3  $15/hr? McDonalds worker? You mean worker soon to be replaced by a kiosk and automated burger & french-fry machine. Stupid.

#4  I wouldn't mind seeing if we could replace a number of Congressional jobs with kiosks.

Having said that I'd like to see their finances monitored a bit more closely. Each Congress-critter should be audited every year by an independent auditing firm and the results made public.

#5  ...Then we would never attract competent, high quality people to serve in Congress.
Oh, wait...

The Champ's strange Donald Trump obsession
[Wash Times] President Barack Obama is strangely obsessed with businessman Donald Trump.

He’s managed to squeeze zingers at the businessman while dealing with world leaders at business conferences and nuclear summits, and when asked at his bully pulpit in Washington about the real-estate mogul, Mr. Obama or his press corps never shy away.

On Wednesday, Mr. Trump gave his first foreign policy speech in Washington, read from a teleprompter. He stumbled in his pronunciation of "Tanzania" during it, but continued on, unfazed.

In a White House press briefing after the speech, Press Secretary Josh Earnest mocked Mr. Trump’s ability, saying to reporters: "Apparently the phonetics are not included on the teleprompter."

It was a low blow -- and one Mr. Obama and his team should be careful of, given Mr. Obama’s own lack of perfection in this area. Several years ago at the National Prayer Breakfast, Mr. Obama fumbled "corpsman" pronouncing it as "corpse-man."

He’s been since forgiven.

The White House seemingly can’t resist taking shots at Mr. Trump. Past presidents have consciously decided to stay out of the other party’s primary process, but not Mr. Obama. Mr. Trump seems to have gotten under his skin -- and has stayed there.

In September, at a Business Roundtable event, the president took a veiled blow at the businessman: "America is great right now. America is winning right now."

Then in February, as Mr. Trump was maintaining his lead in the polls, Mr. Obama concluded the American public was "too sensible" to elect Mr. Trump.

"I continue to believe Mr. Trump will not be president," Mr. Obama said at a news conference in California after a meeting with southeast Asian leaders. "And the reason is that I have a lot of faith in the American people. Being president is a serious job. It’s not hosting a talk show, or a reality show."

Zinger!

But at the event, he continued to rub it in: "It’s not promotion, it’s not marketing. It’s hard," Mr. Obama said of being president. "And a lot of people count on us getting it right."

In March, during a Democratic National Committee event, the President couldn’t resist calling Mr. Trump out again -- unprompted.

"We’ve got a debate inside the other party that is fantasy and schoolyard taunts and selling stuff like it’s the Home Shopping Network," he joked.

"How can you be shocked?" he asked to laughter from the crowd, according to a transcript. "This is the guy, remember, who was sure that I was born in Kenya -- who just wouldn’t let it go. And all this same Republican establishment, they weren’t saying nothing. As long as it was directed at me, they were fine with it. They thought it was a hoot, wanted to get his endorsement. And then now, suddenly, we’re shocked that there’s gambling going on in this establishment."

#1  'Strange Obsession' to some possibly. Chronic Narcissism, impulsivity, mood swings, denial, inappropriate anger, fear of abandonment, difficulty with relationships, identity issues, an unstable self-image, and intense emotions all point to BPD.

#3  It's the legacy thing. I'm guessing, in Barak's eyes, Trump is the only one who's might reverse Barak's "fundamental transformation".

#4  Being president is a serious job. It’s not hosting a talk show, or a reality show."

If only you'd taken that advice, loser. Most unserious Preznit evah. Or did he forget getting interviewed by GloZell, a woman who bathes in milk and Froot Loops?

#5  Obama is looking at his legacy and its looking clear that his legacy may be Trump swept into office with a pile of Republicans behind him and the desire to reverse most of Obama's policies.

That's not a legacy Obama really wants. He wants Hillary to cover up his misdeeds and then take the blame for the failures.

#6  GloZell, huh? I guess that makes even Whoopi look serious.

How To Hand California To Trump: Mexican Flags And Riot
[RADIO.FOXNEWS] Bashing a Trump supporter bloody, wrecking a police car, overwhelming the local cops simply could not have done more to ensure a Trump victory among Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Republicans who already think immigration and the demands of supporters of illegal immigrants colonists are out of control.

That riot demonstrated to Republicans why giving Donald Trump the nomination is a must.

These rioters don’t think these things through, of course. They are angry, emotional, not rational. They just want to demonstrate that they hate Donald Trump...and they don’t want to see a wall because, well, they like the border open. It’s how they have amassed political power in California. In some small way Donald Trump threatens that, or so they think. I think they’re wrong. California has gone over the cliff politically. It is thoroughly Democrat and will stay so for a very long time.

But hey, if you want to make sure Trump is the Republican nominee, a riot flying the Mexican flag is a sure fire winner.

Yup. And be sure to keep on rioting, right up to November 8th.

#6  Trump or Cruz, doesnt matter to them - because if either of them gets into office, the gravy train is done. I think the Free Shit Army is headquartered in Cali.

#13  The Bushes, the Clintons, the Kennedys, Obama, McCain and all these other weasel politicians have encouraged this type of behavior. California may have passed its tipping point...maybe even the whole country. We might still have time to stop it without a civil war and we might not. Or we might just turn into Mexico.

#14  Consider this and the links to the anti-enforcement La Raza sites. Of note, included in the linking is SEIU, the major union for California State Employees.

#15  I am not a Trump supporter. Actually I think he is an loud mouth arrogant azz and I don't quite understand the charm of his "brashness." That said, I'd crawl through broken glass to vote for him to push back against this illegal immigrant riot nonsense.
