Shock at revelation that Manchester suicide killer was Libyan
[Libya Herald] Libyans are in shock this afternoon after hearing that the Manchester jacket wallah was from their country.

British police named Salman Abedi, a Libyan-British dual national, as the killer although his Libyan National ID registration reportedly names him as Sulaiman Abedi. Although the family are originally from the east, from Guba, his father was born in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
Many in the country are upset because they had hoped to rid it of terrorism and instability, marking a new, positive period. Now, however, they fear the outside world will fear Libya.

"It is disappointing and I offer my condolences to the victims and their families. I can feel them and wish them to not think that all Libyans are terrorists," Mousa al-Naili told the Libya Herald.

"It is so sad to hear this news. I can’t understand why this guy has made this terrible act. My deep condolences to all British people," Aisha Zaatut, a Libyan housewife said.

On the other hand, some Libyan observers and journalists, despite their sorrow at the events, have blamed the British government.

Reda Fhelboom, a well-known Libyan journalist who previously lived for many years in Manchester, said that Britannia was paying the price for sheltering hard boys. "Britannia grants them asylum and rights of residency and now it is paying the price for disregarding their extreme ideology," he said.

"To hear that those responsible for the attack are Libyan wasn’t a surprise to me since I know that there are many Libyan turbans living in Manchester," he added.

The same thing was said by prominent analyst Mohammed Eljarh who tweeted that "many Libyan Islamists (LIFG in particular) who fled the Qadaffy regime took refuge in the UK & Manchester is a big centre for them".

Thinni government says it warned UK about harbouring terrorists
[Libya Herald] The Beida-based government of Abdullah Thinni has said that it had warned the British government that it was harbouring Libyan terrorists. But the UK had continued to offer a safe haven to the members of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) and the Moslem Brüderbund.

In a statement that began by denouncing the Manchester terror bombing, the Thinni government then moved on to an outright assault on British support for the Presidency Council (PC) which it said was not recognised by the House of Representatives (HoR) and operated illegally in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
It said the cowardly Manchester attack stemmed from the presence for decades of terrorist groups in the UK. This included the LIFG "which has been recruiting Libyan and Moslem youth in the UK and Europe and sending them to Libya and other countries to deliver terrorism and death."

This, it continued, had been done with the knowledge and consent of the British government which had provided a safe haven for what it described as the "father" of these Death Eaters who was now in Tripoli. This may have been a reference to Dar al-Ifta head Sheikh Sadek Ghariani or to Abdul Hakim Belhaj a former leader of the LIFG. The man was described as a friend and comrade of a member of the PC whom the statement also did not name.

It said that despite its continuous warnings, successive UK governments and British ambassadors had "insisted that we share power in Libya with these terrorist organizations and their militias, the LIFG and the Moslem Brüderbund". These, it said, had an ideology that resisted any peaceful accord.

It added that David Cameron
... has stated that he is certainly a big Thatcher fan, but I don't know whether that makes me a Thatcherite, which means he's not. Since he is not deeply ideological he lacks core principles and is easily led. He has been described as certainly not a Pitt, Elder or Younger, but he does wear a nice suit so maybe he's Beau Brummel ...
, Theresa May’s predecessor as British prime minister, had been pushing the dominance of these groups who "have been destroying our cities and towns in an attempt to shape Libya into an exporter of terror to the whole planet."

The Beida government insisted that London was actually well aware that the legitimate government of Libya and the Libyan National Army (LNA) were combating these terrorists.

Military force is the solution in Libya even if a million Libyans got killed
[Libya Observer] A member of the House of Representatives, based in Tobruk eastern Libya, has voiced a stark odd statement on air this week, saying that the UN-backed dialogue is nothing for their political party anymore.

Dignity Operation opponents are all infidels and non-Muslims, MP Ali Al-Tekbali said on TV
"We believe only in military institutions and military solutions for the current conflict." HoR member, Ali al-Gaydi said on a Libyan TV channel.

Al-Gaydi unethically enough added on air that his government - eastern government - would rather use force and kill a million Libyans in order to see two million others living in luxury.

In a separate TV interview with another HoR member - Ali al-Tekbali - also slammed the dialogue as a waste of time saying they in the eastern government have lost everything in the dialogue sessions over the last two years.

"So all what we have left is to use military force and fight those who are backing up the dialogue. They are all infidels and non-Moslems." al-Tekbali said on TV.

He added that they in the HoR have now got rid of the "lie of February 17 revolution," adding that the only solution in Libya is the military, which will determine Libya's fate once and for all.

They tried that in Europe 1939-1945. Yep, millions died. They haven't done it since. However, the baby sitter can no longer afford to literally sit on them much longer and is becoming tired of their antics.

"Ummm... Sorry about dat..."
The leaders of the Moslem world could not address the summit due to the shortage of time, said FO Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria at the weekly briefing.

"Due to the shortage of time, leaders of 30 countries could not address the summit and King Salman has apologised to all the attendees for it," said Zakaria.

UN demands Saudi regime end siege on Shiite city
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights at the United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
(U.N.) demanded that the Saudi regime, Wednesday, halt its ongoing siege of the predominately Shiite city of al-Awamiya in the eastern part of this Gulf kingdom.
As the saying goes, demand in one hand, poop in the other, see which fills first...
"Despite our attempt to raise concerns and seek explanation from the Government about the planned destruction, bulldozers and demolition vehicles, assisted by armed military forces, have reportedly started on 10 May to destroy buildings and homes in the walled historic neighborhood and in other areas of Awamia, causing injury, deaths and material losses to the civilians residents," the group of UN experts said.

"Historic buildings have been irremediably burned down and damaged by the use of various weapons by the military, forcing residents out of their homes and of the neighborhood, fleeing for their lives," noted the Special Rapporteur in the field of cultural rights, Karima Bennoune.

Terror supporting websites scrubbed
[RT] Egypt and Bahrain have blocked news websites, including those run by Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
i-based state funded Al Jazeera. Cairo has blocked 21 websites, claiming they support "terrorism" and published "lies."

The move comes on the heels of similar actions by Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and the United Arab Emirates, in response to statements made against the Saudis that were published by the Qatar state news agency after an alleged hack.

Egypt banned as many as 21 websites on Wednesday, including the main website of Al Jazeera, Rooters reports, citing MENA news agency and security sources.

"A senior security source said 21 websites have been blocked inside Egypt for having content that supports terrorism and extremism as well (as) publishing lies," MENA reported, adding that the websites would face legal action.

The websites affected are believed to be affiliated with the outlawed Moslem Brüderbund or financed by Qatar, Rooters said citing its sources.

While only five websites, including Al Jazeera, were named by the security sources, other Egypt-focused news websites, hosted abroad and believed to be supported by Qatari authorities, were also blocked. Other news outlets were reportedly inaccessible on Wednesday, including Huffington Post Arabic and Mada Masr, an independent Egyptian investigative online newspaper.

Bangladesh
US to cut financial aid, stop military support to Bangladesh
[Dhaka Tribune] The Trump administration, in a proposed US State Department budget, has recommended the reduction financial assistance and military support for Bangladesh.

The proposal has already been sent for the approval of Congress.

In 2016, Bangladesh received $210m in funds from the US. However,
the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything...
the State Department has proposed to cut the amount to $138m for 2018.

In addition, the proposed budget has recommended that the US stop all military funding to Bangladesh, having provided $2m for the purpose in 2016. However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable...
the proposal does include an allocation of $1.5m for military training and education in Bangladesh.

The US government in the budget also proposed that $95m be allocated to help continue development of the democratic system and economic growth in Bangladesh.

The move corresponds with the electoral pledge of US President Donald J Trump, as he had said that he would cut funds for foreign countries if elected.

Furthermore, the US State Department has recommended an allocation of $3m as anti-terrorism assistance to help Bangladesh contain militancy.

In 2016, Bangladesh received $79m in funds for its health sector, while the proposed budget for next year will be cut to $36.7m. However,
women are made to be loved, not understood...
the amount is still the highest granted to any South Asian countries, with India receiving just $29.6m. Nepal and Pakistain hold the third and fourth positions on the list.

The US government has also proposed an allocation of $22.5m to curb the maternal mortality rate and ensure healthcare services for children under five.

US appeals court says Trump’s travel ban motivated by 'religious intolerance'
[RT] President Donald Trump’s travel ban unfairly discriminated against Muslims, a federal appeals court ruled, upholding most of the previously issued injunction against it.

Trump’s executive order from January 27 “drips with religious intolerance, animus, and discrimination,” wrote Chief Judge Roger Gregory of the Virginia-based US Appeals Court in the 4th circuit.

In a 10-3 decision, the majority of judges ruled that they were “unconvinced” the executive order was motivated by national security concerns rather than a “Muslim ban.”

#3  Even though there remains less than no evidence of any of that within the written travel moratorium, it would not be enough to override the law signed by Harry Truman 65 years ago. It gives the President broad sweeping powers over immigrants, PERIOD.
'When the President decides...'. It does not say that he must decide for a good reason or reason that the self appointed like, only that he decide. Whether they like it or not, religious intolerance, animus, and discrimination' are well within presidential authority. Maybe it should be, maybe it shouldn't but it IS. This is not how you change the Law.

#8  The same argument could have been used to nullify Obama's (but not Clinton's and GWB's) waivers of the Jerusalem Embassy Act.

Obama supported the notion of a Muslim Jerusalem in in Cairo speech by approvingly citing the Sura Al-Izra which states that the Muslim(!) prophets Moses, Jesus and Mohammed joined peacefully in prayer in Jerusalem.

Also he committed the US government to a general defence of Islamic doctrine in his "The Future Must Not Belong ..." speech before the UN.

Applying the appeals court's standard Obama's waivers should have been null and void because they were political moves establishing a state religion.

Iraq
Pentagon shifts blame to ISIS for 100 civilians killed during US airstrike in Mosul
[RT] More than 100 non-combatants were killed when a US Arclight airstrike in Iraq triggered secondary kabooms in March, according to a Pentagon investigation. Washington says Iraq requested the strike after Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
fighters began shooting at Iraqi forces.

The probe found that the March 17 Arclight airstrike on a building in djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
's al-Jadida neighborhood triggered secondary kabooms from devices planted by Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIS) fighters.

Those secondary blasts, according to the military, caused the concrete building to collapse, leading to more than 100 civilian casualties, which likely represents the largest single incident of civilian deaths since the US air campaign against IS began in 2014.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Matthew Isler, the lead investigator of the probe, said 101 civilians in the building were killed and that another four died in a nearby building. He says 36 civilians remain unaccounted for.

Although the investigation acknowledges the civilian deaths caused, it appears to assign blame to Islamic State, with the probe noting that the episode began when two IS snipers began firing at troops from Iraq's Counterterrorism Service.

The Pentagon said military Sherlocks led by Isler visited the site of the deadly Arclight airstrike twice, spoke to witnesses, and combed through more than 700 videos taken from coalition warplanes over a 10-day period before, during, and after the strike.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel to cut over a quarter of electricity provided to Gaza
Intra-Palestinian squabbling, for which Israel will shortly be blamed.
[Ynet] As part of a power struggle between the PA and Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,, Abbas decides to cut down the amount of money the PA pays for Gazoo's electricity, leading Israel to reduce the electricity to the strip accordingly.

In two weeks' time, Israel will cut over a quarter of the electricity it provides the Gazoo Strip, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) announced Thursday.

Every month, Israel provides the Gazoo Strip with 125 megawatts of electricity, which costs NIS 40 million on average. Israel takes that sum out of the tax money it collects for the Paleostinian Authority.

Two months ago, the PA decided to stop paying that sum due to a power struggle with the Hamas government. The PA had demanded control over the Gazoo Strip, including control over border crossings, as well as to receive the taxes Hamas collects from Paleostinians in Gazoo for services the PA provides.

Hamas rejected these demands outright, leading Paleostinian President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
to gradually cut down on the services the PA provides the strip for as long as it has no control over the enclave.

Hamas, meanwhile, formed a committee to govern the Gazoo Strip instead of the Paleostinian unity government that sits in Ramallah, which Hamas claims does not take care of the strip's needs.

At first, the PA informed COGAT it was no longer willing to pay for Gazoo's electricity. However it has recently softened its position, telling COGAT that starting next month it will pay NIS 25-30 million every month instead of NIS 40 million.

As a result, Israel has decided to reduce the electricity it provides the strip accordingly.

"Hamas prefers its own interests and those of its senior members," said GOCAT, Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai. "Every tunnel in the Gazoo Strip has a generator, and only after that do the people get electricity. This failure is not ours. This is a conflict between Hamas and the PA. If Hamas decides the electricity will go to hospitals and civilians instead of Hamas members and Yahya Sinwar, the public in the Gazoo Strip won't have a problem."

Because of the electricity crisis in the strip, an average Paleostinian home gets about six hours of electricity per day.
