Libyan PM Says Government Responsible For Bombing Tripoli Airport
[Ynet] Libya's internationally-recognized Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni said on Tuesday his government's air force was responsible for strikes on the airport of the capital Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
, controlled by a rival administration.

Mitiga airport has been hit at least twice this week in the growing conflict among rival factions in the North African state three years after the fall of Muammar Qadaffy
...The late megalomaniac dictator of Libya, admired everywhere for his garish costumes, funny hats, harem of cutie bodyguards, and incoherent ravings. As far as is known, he is the only person who's ever declared jihad on Switzerland...
"The air strikes on Mitiga airport were conducted by the national air force to target the group Libya Dawn
...aka Fajr Libya, the Islamist operation launched to counter that of General Khalifa Haftar (Operation Dignity). It is made up of the Libya Shield militia (Misrata and Moslem Brotherhood), Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (Moslem Brotherhood), and Tripoli Brigade (close to Abdul Hakim Belhaj, head of Al-Watan party). Financing and moral support come from Turkey and Qatar...
," Thinni's government website quoted him as saying. He was referring to an gang backing the rival government controlling Tripoli.

Libya Dawn took over the capital Tripoli in the summer, setting up its own government, taking over ministries, and forcing Thinni and the elected parliament to move to the eastern city of Tobruk.

Kenyan Unions Warn Thousands of Workers to Leave Restive North
[AnNahar] Thousands of Kenyan civil servants, teachers and medics have been warned by their unions to leave troubled northeastern regions hit by a wave of murderous Moslem attacks, reports said Tuesday.

The call follows attacks over the weekend, claimed by Somalia's al-Qaeda-affiliated Shabaab, in which 28 non-Moslems were executed on a bus near the northeastern town of Mandera.

Of those killed, 24 were teachers and three were medics, the Daily Nation reported.

Six unions -- including those representing doctors, dentists, civil servants and primary and secondary school teachers -- have advised members to leave until security forces can ensure their safety.

The call to leave areas, including the main towns of Garissa, Wajir and Mandera, includes over 10,00 teachers and 16,500 civil servants.

"Their lives are clearly in danger," Kenya Union of Teachers leader Wilson Sossion said, according to the Nation. "We have already lost enough members of the teaching force and can't risk any further."

Union of Civil Servants chief Tom Odege said the government had a duty to protect its citizens, and that "when workers are targeted it is an insult to the government."

Professionals working in the largely Moslem and ethnic Somali northeastern regions often come from further south in Kenya, where Christians make up some 80 percent of the population.

Kenya has suffered a series of attacks since invading Somalia in 2011 to attack the Shabaab, later joining an African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
force battling the Islamists.

The Shehab said the bus attack was carried out in Dire Revenge for police raids on mosques in Kenya's key port of Mombasa.

"We are concerned that very little is being done to improve the security of our members," said Abidan Mwachi from the doctors and dentist union.

But Kenya's newspapers warned the call to leave would damage the region.

The Standard's editorial warning the "call could trigger a mass exodus of civil servants from the areas", while also admitting that "no job is worth dying for."

The Nation warned the already troubled and impoverished northeast would face a "serious health, public service and education crisis."

Hundreds are due to march through the capital Nairobi later Tuesday in a demonstration calling for reinforced security measures.

U.S. Soldier Seized by Qaida Freed in Yemen
[AnNahar] A U.S. soldier was freed Tuesday by Yemeni forces just hours after being captured in an al-Qaeda attack on an air base in the violence-wracked country, military officials said.

The American was seized along with seven Yemeni soldiers in the Lion of Islam assault on Al-Anad base in Lahij province, an official said.

Yemeni forces launched a dawn raid to free the hostages, killing seven kidnappers.

One member of the security forces was reported to have been lightly maimed during the rescue.

The forces of Evil captured seven soldiers on guard during the night before advancing into the base and seizing the U.S. soldier, the official said.

Yemen is a key U.S. ally in the fight against al-Qaeda, allowing Washington to conduct a longstanding drone war against the group on its territory.

Yemeni officials acknowledge that Washington has deployed personnel at Al-Anad base to gather intelligence for the drone strikes.

Al-Qaeda has exploited instability in the impoverished Arabian Peninsula country since a 2011 uprising overthrew president President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh
... Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it...
The American embassy in Sanaa declined to comment on Tuesday.

Meanwhile,
...back at the hanging, Butch continued with his last words, trying not to repeat himself too often......
Yemen's interior ministry said in an overnight statement that the coasties was on alert in several provinces following information that "terrorist groups belonging to Somalia's (al-Qaeda-affiliated) Shabaab are planning to enter Yemen to carry out terrorist attacks".

The ministry ordered "increased deployment in security patrols along Yemen's coast in coordination with naval forces... to arrest any elements and foil any suspected movement".

It was unclear if the warning was linked to the attack in Lahij.

Tens of thousands of Somali refugees cross the Gulf of Aden every year to reach Yemen.

But African and Yemeni officials have warned that Shabaab fighters were also infiltrating among refugees entering the country, which is home to al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula
...the latest incarnation of various Qaeda and Qaeda-allied groups, including the now-defunct Aden-Abyan Islamic Army that boomed the USS Cole in 2000...
Washington calls AQAP the deadliest franchise in the global Lion of Islam network.
Grunter submitted a NY Post article on the same story which adds this detail:
A Yemeni government source said the American was a US military instructor who worked at al-Anad air base in Lahej province, some 37 miles (60 km) north of the port city of Aden.

Yemeni counterterrorism forces rescued eight hostages from their al-Qaida kidnappers in a raid Tuesday.

Seven al-Qaida members were killed and one Yemeni soldier was wounded. The identities of the hostages were unclear, but at least six were Yemeni and one was a foreigner.

The Pentagon denied a report that one of the hostages was American, but it applauded the Yemeni government's rescue operation.

Bangladesh Ex-minister Surrenders after Hajj Criticism
[AnNahar] An influential ex-minister surrendered to Bangladesh police Tuesday after Islamists staged protests nationwide calling for his arrest and prosecution over remarks criticizing the annual Moslem Hajj pilgrimage.

Abdul Latif Siddique's surrender came a day after Islamists gave an ultimatum to detain him after he returned home Sunday following a long stay in India and the United States where he called the Moslem ritual Hajj a "waste" of manpower.

The accused "surrendered to police at 1:20 pm (0720 GMT) today and now he is being taken to a court", Dhaka Metropolitan Police front man Masudur Rahman told Agence La Belle France Presse.

Siddique's remarks triggered widespread protests across the Moslem-majority nation in September, with Islamists demanding his immediate dismissal from the cabinet of Prime Minister the loathesome Sheikh Hasina
...Bangla dynastic politician and current Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She has been the President of the Bangla Awami League since the Lower Paleolithic. She is the eldest of five children of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangla. Her party defeated the BNP-led Four-Party Alliance in the 2008 parliamentary elections. She has once before held the office, from 1996 to 2001, when she was defeated in a landslide. She and the head of the BNP, Khaleda Zia show such blind animosity toward each other that they are known as the Battling Begums..
and his prosecution for "hurting their feelings".

Some groups have even demanded his execution.

Hasina fired Siddique from the post of telecommunications minister while he was still in the United States.

Local courts also issued more than a dozen arrest warrants against him for "wounding religious sentiments" of Moslems.

Siddique spoke out against the Hajj pilgrimage, and a non-political Islamic group, the Tablig Jamaat, at a rally in New York.

Local television aired footage of Siddique telling Bangladeshi expatriates in New York that, "I am dead against the Hajj and the Tablig Jamaat".

"Two million people have gone to Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
to perform Hajj. Hajj is a waste of manpower. Those who perform Hajj do not have any productivity," he said in the televised footage.

"They (Hajj pilgrims) deduct from the economy, spend a lot of money abroad," he said.

As footage of his speeches were shown on television, hardline Islamist group Hefajat-e-Islam
...a madrassa-based false nose and mustache of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, formed in 2010 to protest against secular education. In 2011 demonstrated violentyly against women's rights and in 2013 held large rallies demanding capital punishment of Shahbag Square protesters and banning women working outside the home...
declared him "an apostate".

He has refused to apologize for his comments on the Hajj -- a pilgrimage he performed in 1998, according to Bangladeshi dailies.

In 1994, similar protests by Islamists forced author Taslima Nasreen, a self-declared atheist, to seek exile abroad. Nasreen now lives in India.

Europe
Norway Arms Police Over Increased Terror Threat
[AnNahar] Norway will give its usually unarmed police force firearms for the next month in response to the "likely" risk of a terrorist attack, the police said Tuesday.

"Uniformed officers on surveillance and intervention duties will carry a gun starting today," Norway's National Police Directorate said in a statement.

"The reason has to do with the risk assessment by PST (Norwegian intelligence services), which indicates that the police and the army are possible targets of terrorist attacks."

On November 5, the PST said that "within the coming 12 months, it is likely that Norway will be threatened by terrorist attacks or exposed to attempted strikes", referring to recent attacks perpetrated or thwarted in Canada, Britannia and Australia.

Norwegian authorities have said they fear the return of seasoned and radicalized jihadists to the country after fighting in the Syrian conflict.

According to PST, about 60 people with links to Norway have taken part or still participate in combats in the war-torn country.

"Four weeks (the expected duration of the measure) could be considered too short a period, but it's because we want to make a new assessment" within a month, Justice Minister Anders Anundsen told Norwegian news agency NTB last week.

Norway is known as a generally peaceful country, but was shaken in 2011 by the bloody attacks of right-wing bully boy Anders Behring Breivik, who killed 77 people.

Although police in the Nordic country usually work unarmed, they can use fire arms which are locked away in police cars.

The Norwegian army has recommended its personnel not to wear uniforms when off duty.

The decision has sparked a storm of criticism from Norwegian Internet users -- opposed to arming the police -- many of whom pointed to the shooting of an African American teenager in Ferguson, U.S., by a white police officer last August.

Dutch Authorities Release Teen Rescued by Mum From IS
[AnNahar] A Dutch court on Tuesday ordered the provisional release of a young woman being probed on terrorism charges after her mother rescued her from Syria, where she had married an Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
fighter.

"The judge has decided to free Aicha if she adheres to certain conditions," the Limburg regional court said in a statement.

A convert to Islam who traveled to Syria in February to marry an IS fighter she saw as a Robin Hood figure, Aicha, whose surname was not given, was placed in durance vile
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
after landing back in the Netherlands with her mother Monique last Wednesday.

A judge on Friday had ordered Aicha to be detained pending possible terrorism charges, including taking part in a terrorist organization.

The court declined to give the precise conditions for Aicha's release, but said it broadly meant the 19-year-old -- called Sterlina before she adopted an Arab name -- should "not commit any crimes and adhere to any request by the police and justice officials."

The Limburg court also declined to say exactly when the Aicha will be released, keeping her "personal interests at heart."

European nations are increasingly concerned about returning jihadist fighters, but the question of what to do with women who travel to Iraq and Syria but do not fight is a thorny one.

The authorities have barred Monique and Aicha's lawyers from talking to the press because of the sensitivity of the case.

Monique, 49, has previously told Dutch television how her daughter converted to Islam and began wearing a face-covering niqab.

Aicha traveled to Syria to join a Dutch-Turkish jihadist fighter who went to the war-torn country to train fighters for the IS group.

She later turned to her mother for help after her marriage failed and she ended up with a Tunisian fighter, the Dutch tabloid daily Algemeen Dagblad said.

The paper reported that a niqab-wearing Monique crossed the border into Syria and traveled to the IS stronghold city of Raqa, but the Dutch prosecutor's office said they had met at the Turkish-Syrian border.

Public prosecutors said that if Aicha were found to have fought alongside IS she could face up to 30 years in prison.

Indian delegation arrested before meeting Iraq PM Abadi & Ayatollah Sistani
[Iraq News] On Tuesday, an Indian newspaper revealed the Indian authorities arrested a delegation of Indian nationals in the Indira Gandhi Airport; they were heading to Iraq to meet with the supreme religious authority Ali al-Sistani and Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, and to provide humanitarian aid and launch a campaign against terrorism.

Indian newspaper âThe Hinduâ wrote on its official website, followed by IraqiNews.com, âA delegation of Indian male volunteersâintended to travel to Iraq to provide humanitarian servicesâhave been arrested and interrogated in the Indira Gandhi International Airport by intelligence and police officers in the airport.â

The newspaper added that, âThe delegation composed of six people and led by the well known Shiite cleric Calpe Jawad and members of the Indian Shiite organization âAnjuman Heydariâ, attributed the arrest to the actions of some rogue elements in the police and intelligence services, and insisting on their position that they were acting according to official protocol standards.â

Pakistan Media Owner Sentenced to 26 Years for 'Blasphemy'
[AnNahar] A Pakistain court Tuesday sentenced the owner of the country's biggest media group to 26 years in prison for broadcasting a show it said was blasphemous.

The verdict against Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman along with the host of the show and two guests was announced by an anti-terror court in the city of Gilgit, which is controlled by Pakistain but part of the Kashmire region which India also claims.

But the order is unlikely to be implemented because the Gilgit-Baltistan region is not considered a full-fledged province by Pakistain and verdicts by its courts do not apply to the rest of the country.

The four people convicted were also ordered to pay a fine of 1.3 million rupees ($13,000), sell their properties and surrender their passports, according to a copy of the court order.

"The malicious acts of the proclaimed offenders ignited the sentiments of all the Moslems of the country and hurt the feelings, which cannot be taken lightly and there is need to strictly curb such tendency," the order said.

No lawyer appeared on behalf of any of the accused. However the court had arranged a state lawyer to defend them.

The morning show broadcast live on Geo TV in May featured Pak starlet Veena Malik dancing with her new husband while a group of Sufi musicians sang a devotional song about the wedding of the Prophet Muhammad's daughter.

Its broadcast set off a storm of controversy on social media, though similar routines by other channels in the past have largely gone unnoticed.

Many observers at the time suspected Pakistain's military establishment of engineering the blasphemy campaign against Geo TV.

The channel was then caught up in a struggle with the all-powerful military.

The blasphemy case was registered on May 26 in a cop shoppe in Gilgit by a hardline sunni holy man Himayatullah Khan, deputy chief of the anti-shia organization Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) formerly known as Sipah-e-Sahaba.

Jordan refuses Iraq's request to establish aircraft bases to bomb ISIS
[Iraq News] During the visit of head of parliament Salim al-Jabouri to Oman, Jordan refused an Iraq's request to establish airplanes bases to bomb the sites of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Government's 8-step plan to end terror
[Ynet] The plan, being spearheaded by MK Yariv Levin, who said he formulated the bill at the behest of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, will give the police and security establishment the tools it needs to create "real deterrence."

From revoking the citizenship to baring the Palestinian flag in riots, the bill stipulates eight central moves:

Israeli Arabs caught engaging or cooperating with terror will automatically lose their citizenship - or Palestinian Authority residency, in the case of Palestinians.

After completing their prison term, terrorists will be deported from Israel.

Those killed during their attempt to conduct a terror attack will not receive a funeral.

The body of terrorists will not be transferred to their families, and will be buried in an unknown location, without ceremony and without future access for their families

Terrorists' houses will be destroyed within 24-hours of the attack

Masked stone throwers and those inciting for terror and violence participating in illegal protests in which firebombs or fireworks were thrown will be arrested and held in remand until the completion of legal procedures against them. The same measures will be taken against those who waved an 'enemy flag' during the protests, including the Palestinian flag. Anyone convicted at the end of their remand will lose their social welfare benefits and driving license for a 10 year period.

Families of terrorists will lose their citizenship and will be deported to Gaza should they express support for their relative's deed. Support, according to the bill, can be expressed through public or social media.

The bill also includes a clause that would close businesses and printing presses that print posters that support terror or terrorists.

#9  Shipman: You're right - fertility rates for Palestinians are nowhere near the 7.8 figure that I remember reading for Muslims in general. According to Wiki, the 2013 fertility rate in Gaza was 4.18, while in the West Bank the rates were 2.91 for Arabs and 5.10 for the Jewish population. The 2013 rates for Israel without the West Bank were 3.35 for Muslims and 3.05 for Jews.

The 1998 rate for Jews was 2.63. I bring that up because while working on an archeological project in Ashkelon that summer and staying in a nice hotel (the Shulamit Gardens, now the Hotel Dan), we were joined one week by throngs of thirty-something women who liked to get up during cocktails and dance with one another, en mass. Their reward for successfully having a third child was a free week at Ashkelon, or somewhere else, probably Eilat, without husbands or kids.

Destroy Hamas in Gaza now, urges the ‘Green Prince’
[IsraelTimes] "To get to peace with the Paleostinians, Israel needs to go to war against Hamas in Gazoo, and fast." That's the view of Mosab Hasan Yusef, better known as the "Green Prince," the son of West Bank Hamas chief Sheikh Hasan Yusef.

Mosab Yusef, who was a Shin Bet agent from 1997 to 2007, at the same time as he ran his father's office, is well aware of the significance of what he is saying. "I know that this will sound to some people like dangerous rhetoric, a push for war, but my motivation is precisely the opposite. I'm speaking out because you can't deal with reality by running away from it. You can't take refuge in temporary solutions. Hamas has to be tackled at its roots, uprooted once and for all, and now is the perfect moment to deal with Hamas militarily in Gazoo. The longer Israel waits," he warned, "the more dangerous an enemy Hamas will become and the harder the battle. This is the time to initiate a war against Hamas."

Now based in the US, Mosab Yusef is currently on a visit to Israel, and I met with him in Tel Aviv. It was five years ago that I first revealed that he was an agent assisting the Shin Bet -- Israel's most reliable source in Hamas, central to the prevention of numerous suicide kabooms and attacks, and to the exposure of Hamas terror cells -- and the identity of his handler, "Captain Loai," Gonen Ben Itzhak. As we sat together near the Tel Aviv beach, his criticisms of Israeli government policy were clear and fierce.

#1  This man, now preaching the US Christian Evangelical circuit (who thinks the coming Antichrist will me Muslim), has some very interesting (potentially effective) ideas on how to tackle Hamas. He also has good ideas on how destabilize Gazan support for Hamas and how Israel can militarily act without international condemnation.

Interior Minister Revokes Jerusalem Residency Of Terror Accomplice
[IsraelTimes] Interior Minister Gilad Erdan on Sunday revoked the permanent residency of an East Jerusalem man who drove a jacket wallah to his destination in 2001 to carry out a deadly attack.
Good.
At the same time, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would draft a bill seeking to do the same to East Jerusalemites who incite against Israel.
Very good.
The move by Erdan came a day after he said he was reviewing the possibility of revoking the Israeli residencies of East Jerusalem Arabs who support terror. Netanyahu on Saturday was expected to advance legislation aimed at revoking the residency permits and social benefits of East Jerusalem Arabs who engage in terrorism or other nationalistically motivated crimes, such as incitement to violence against the state.

Mohammed Nadi served 10 years in prison for transporting a suicide bomber to Tel Aviv's Dolphinarium nightclub on June 1, 2001, in an attack that killed 21 teenagers and injured 132 people. He was convicted of assisting homicide, assisting in causing severe bodily harm, and assisting illegal entry of a Paleostinian. On Sunday, Erdan revoked Nadi's residency, which in effect prevents Nadi from receiving social benefits, health insurance, and costs him his Israeli identification card.

"Under these circumstances, given the severity of your actions and blatant breach of trust as a resident of the State of Israel, I have decided to exercise my authority and cancel your permanent residency in Israel," Erdan wrote in a letter to Nadi.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting on Sunday morning, Netanyahu said he had instructed Cabinet Secretary Avi Mandelblit and the interior minister to draft a bill to "revoke the rights from residents who participate in terror or incitement against Israel."

The prime minister said the "important" legislation "will exact a price from the Death Eaters and inciters, stone-throwers and those who hurl Molotov cocktails, and will be complementary to the house demolitions to deter the Death Eaters and inciters."

The interior minister added that recently "a wave of terror and incitement" has swept Israel, assisted by Israeli residents who "carry out attacks, assist them, and justify them, and even incite others to commit crimes and murders."

"These people cannot continue to enjoy a permanent status of Israeli residency, and I will use all of my power to cancel their residency and prevent them from receiving all benefits that this residency offers."

On Saturday, Erdan said he had asked his staff to "advise me on how my authority may be widened... to nullify the permanent residency and accompanying social rights of East Jerusalem Arabs who promote terror and incite violence."

The move was promptly supported by Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch, who said that Israel should use the threat of deportation and the revocation of residency permits and social rights as a deterrent.

Shortly afterward, the prime minister said that it was "out of the question" for Death Eaters to receive social benefits, and was expected to spearhead a bill to allow the revoking of residency for those involved in nationalist activities, as well as incitement to violence.

While theoretically possible, changing or introducing a law to allow for such action has been described by experts as ethically problematic and a threat to freedom of speech.

In 2011, the Knesset passed a law proposed by Yisrael Beytenu MK David Rotem that allows the Supreme Court to revoke the citizenship of Israelis convicted of terrorism or espionage. At the time, Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman praised the move as a step toward "contending with the phenomenon of exploiting democracy in order to subvert it."

That law, however, does not apply to people who only speak out against the state.

The initiative has been described as a radical threat to freedom of expression by Debbie Gild-Hayo, director of policy advocacy at the Association for Civil Rights in Israel.

"As is known, the importance of freedom of expression lies precisely in protecting extreme and controversial expressions," she said earlier this month.

Israel annexed what had been the Jordanian-controlled East Jerusalem and Old City after 1967's Six Day War and offered permanent residence status to the area's inhabitants.

East Jerusalem residents generally have Israeli papers that enable them to travel freely about the city and enjoy the social benefits awarded to Israeli citizens.

Gaza Gets Second Postwar Delivery of Building Materials
[AnNahar] Twenty-eight trucks of cement entered the battered Gazoo Strip Tuesday in only the second delivery of building materials for the private sector since a 50-day summer war, officials said.

Raed Fatuh, the Paleostinian Authority official in charge of the entry of goods into Gazoo from Israel through the Kerem Shalom crossing, confirmed 28 trucks, each carrying 40 tonnes of cement, had crossed into the enclave.

It was the first delivery of building materials for the private sector since October 14, when 75 trucks entered Gazoo, carrying 1,300 tonnes of material -- 15 trucks of cement, 10 of metal and 50 of gravel.

"This is the biggest delivery of cement since the war ended," Fatuh told AFP, referring to the seven-week conflict between Israel and Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, gunnies which ended with a truce on August 26.

"But it is not enough, it is only a tiny amount for the reconstruction."

He said there had been no further deliveries since October because Israel had halted the process over concerns about how the materials had been used.

Last week, UN special envoy Robert Serry said the delivery of building materials would resume, giving 25,000 home owners access to materials to repair their damaged homes.

"In the coming weeks, all individuals in Gazoo in need of building materials will be enabled to access the mechanism if they wish to do so," Serry said in a statement on November 21.

But Fatuh said it was not clear whether Tuesday's delivery was a one-off or would be followed by others. He said he had no idea when Israel would allow the entry of materials other than cement.

"We don't know if the Israelis will permit it again tomorrow or whether they will allow in only one or two trucks," he said.

Paleostinian officials say at least 100 trucks of building materials a day are needed to complete the reconstruction of Gazoo within three years.

The UN agency for Paleostinian refugees is compiling a technical assessment of how many refugee homes were damaged or destroyed in the war which should be completed within a fortnight.

Refugees make up more than 70 percent of Gazoo's 1.8 million population.

Interim figures indicate that nearly 89,000 refugee homes were damaged, of which 15,000 were either completely destroyed or so badly damaged as to be uninhabitable.

Gaza Threatens To Halt Israeli Fruit Imports
[Ynet] After Israel refuses to let shipment of 135 tons vegetable bound from the Strip to the West Bank and Jordan through the Kerem Shalom crossing, Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, says it'll stop importing from Israel.

Gazoo's Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,-run agriculture ministry threatened on Monday to stop importing Israeli fruit to the Paleostinian territory in response to what it said was vegetable exports being blocked.

The warning came months after a 50-day bloody conflict between Israel and bully boyz in the Gazoo Strip, leaving the enclave in humanitarian and economic crisis.

"If Israel doesn't reverse its decision to halt the export of Paleostinian agricultural produce... we will ban the entry of fruit" from Israel, a ministry statement said.

It said Israel on Sunday refused to let through the Kerem Shalom goods crossing some 12 trucks destined for the West Bank and Jordan and carrying 135 tons of vegetables worth $149,000 (120,000 euros).

Gazoo has been choked by an eight-year blockade which Israel imposed after Hamas kidnapped one of its soldiers in a cross-border raid.

The Jewish state controls two of the tiny coastal territory's three crossings - Kerem Shalom in the south and the Erez personnel crossing in the north. Egypt controls the third crossing at Rafah in the south.

After Operation Protective Edge ended on August 26, the international community, including the International Monetary Fund, urged Israel to loosen the blockade to allow in crucial humanitarian aid and to revive the ailing economy.

Israel has allowed a small amount of construction material into Gazoo to help rebuild some of the tens of thousands of homes destroyed by air strikes and artillery, but has not palpably eased the blockade.

The export of farm produce is a key source of income for Gazoo, home to 1.8 million Paleostinians.

Exports from Gazoo currently stand at around 2 percent of what they were before the blockade.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Khamenei: West Fails To Bring Iran To Its Knees
[Ynet] Iran's supreme leader says world powers were unable to persuade Tehran to stop nuclear pursuit on English-language Twitter account.
Taking a victory lap, hopefully prematurely.
A Twitter account Iran experts believe is run by the office of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Tuesday "arrogant" powers had tried hard to bring the Islamic Theocratic Republic to its knees but had failed.

In a comment apparently referring to the failure of Iran and six world powers to end a dispute about Iran's nuclear goals, a message on the English-language account said: "In the nuclear issue, arrogants have made their best to bring Iran to its knees but they were not able and will not be able to do so."

The term arrogants, or arrogant powers, is used in Iran to refer to the United States and its Western and Israeli allies. Washington cut ties with Tehran a year after the 1979 revolution that ushered in Iran's Shiite Moslem theocracy.

Iran and the six powers failed on Monday for a second time this year to resolve their 12-year confrontation over Tehran's nuclear ambitions, and gave themselves seven more months to overcome the deadlock.

In a second tweet, Khamenei appeared to accuse the West of meddling in Middle Eastern turmoil, saying Islamic hard boyz had turned Arab Spring uprisings into Moslem infighting "in line with arrogants' goals".

The message referred to "takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who most be killed...
" hard boyz â Sunnis who proclaim followers of other sects of Islam to be infidels and therefore legitimate targets of holy war.

A third tweet from the same account said: "US-led coalition against ISIS is a blatant lie. By the means of ISIS, US wants to keep the war among Moslems alive," using an acronym for the Islamic State

bully boy group.

The United States and its allies have launched air strikes on the Sunni Moslem fighters who have seized territory in Syria and neighboring Iraq.
The Washington Free Beacon adds:
Iran: ‘Americans Have Very Clearly Surrendered’

Rouhani: 'Today we have a victory'

The "Americans have very clearly surrendered to Iran's might, and this is obvious in their behavior in the region and in the negotiations, and the enemies' reservations vis-a-vis Iran are completely felt," Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, commander of the Iranian Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), was quoted as saying late Monday following the announcement of an extension in talks.

UN: Islamic State Group Got Up To $45m In Ransoms

group which controls a large swath of Syria and Iraq has received between $35 million and $45 million in ransom payments in the past year, a UN expert monitoring sanctions against al-Qaeda said Monday.

Yotsna Lalji told a meeting of the UN Security Council's Counter-Terrorism Committee that an estimated $120 million in ransom was paid to terrorist groups between 2004 and 2012.

Kidnapping for ransom "continues to grow," she said, as demonstrated by the money the myrmidon group calling itself the Islamic State has collected, up to $45 million in just the past year.

She said in recent years that al-Qaeda and its affiliates have made kidnapping "the core al-Qaeda tactic for generating revenue." She pointed to an October 2012 recording in which al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri incites Death Eaters worldwide to kidnap Westerners.
