Saudi Arabia intercepts rocket fired by Yemen’s Houthis
[The Peninsula] Saudi air defenses on Friday intercepted what they described as a "ballistic missile" fired into the kingdom’s Jizan region by Yemen’s Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
rebel group, according to Saudi media reports.

Yemen’s Houthi-run al-Masira television channel appeared to confirm the report, saying Houthi fighters had targeted the Jizan Airport with a "ballistic missile" fired from Yemeni territory.

According to official Saudi statements, the kingdom’s air defenses have intercepted 18 such missiles within the past 25 days.

Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
has been wracked by violence and chaos since 2014, when Shia Houthi rebels overran much of the country, including capital Sanaa.

The conflict escalated in 2015 when Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and its Sunni-Arab allies -- who accuse the Houthis of serving as Iranian proxies -- launched a massive air campaign in Yemen aimed at rolling back Houthi gains.

Iraq
Diyala dead dudes: Baghdadi’s Number 2 toes up, 4 native troops kaboomed

Iraqi jets bomb IS rest house, kill Baghdadi’s right-hand man in Diyala

Diyala (IraqiNews.com) Security troops have killed the right-hand man of the supreme leader of Islamic State in Diyala, the security committee announced on Friday.

Speaking to AlSumaria News, Sadeq al-Husseini, head of the security committee of Diyala provincial council, said. “The airstrike targeted a rest house by Islamic State members in al-Zor basin, northeast of Baquba, which left two Islamic State members, one of whom was a leader. Preliminary information showed that the leader was the right-hand man of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in the so-called Diyala State.”

“The targeted rest house was an important headquarter for IS, from which the group’s dormant cells are run,” Husseini added.

Earlier today, Maj. Gen. Mazhar al-Azzawi, commander of Diyala Operations, said shelling the rest house by Iraqi fighter jets left two IS members killed.

News reports said security troops shot dead Abu Walid al-Shishany, one of Baghdadi’s closest aides, while he was in a desert area on the outskirts of Kirkuk, earlier in April.

Four Iraqi soldiers were killed, injured in bomb blast, northeast of Diyala

Diyala (IraqiNews.com) Four Iraqi soldiers were killed and injured in a bomb blast in northeast of Diyala, an informed security source from the province said on Friday.

“An Islamic State haven was destroyed by the U.S.-led Coalition jets near Muqdadiya region, northeast of Diyala,” the source told Alghad Press. “Army troops then advanced to check the haven.”

“A bomb, planted near the haven, went off as the troops advanced, leaving a soldier killed and three others, including an officer, wounded, according to the official estimates of the hospital.

18 Islamic State members killed as Iraqi troops thwart attack on borders with Syria
Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) Eighteen Islamic State members were killed as Iraqi troops repulsed an attack by the militant group on the Iraqi-Syrian borders, west of Nineveh, military sources said on Friday.

“Iraqi troops foiled a fierce attack by IS on the Iraqi-Syrian borders, near Rabei’a town, northwest of Mosul. All the attackers were killed immediately, while their weapons were confiscated,” Lt. Gen. Ali al-Aaraji, of the army the 15th division, told BasNews.

The forces, according to Aaraji, “repelled the attack and were deployed along the borders between Iraq and Syria in al-Yaarabiya region, fearing infiltration by more militants.”

Moreover, “the troops launched operations at the nearby villages in search for IS members,” he added.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Authorities say Palestinian lecturer shot dead in Malaysia
[NYPost] Two unidentified men shot and killed a 35-year-old Palestinian man in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday morning, Malaysian and Palestinian authorities said.

The Islamist group Hamas, which exercises de facto control over Gaza, said one of its members was "assassinated" in Malaysia but stopped short of accusing Israel's secret service for carrying out the killing.
"Could have been anybody. He was Paleo - not well liked"
The two men on a motorcycle fired ten shots at the victim, killing him on the spot, Kuala Lumpur police chief Mazlan Lazim said in statement.

"Preliminary investigations found four gunshot wounds on the victim's body. Two bullet slugs were found at the scene of the incident," Mazlan said.

Palestine’s ambassador to Malaysia Anwar Al Agha later identified the victim as Palestinian Fadi al-Batsh, an engineering lecturer, but declined to say if he was a member of Hamas. Witnesses at the scene had told him that the two suspects had "European features", the ambassador told Al-Rooters.
that's raaaaaycis!
When contacted by Reuters, Mazlan declined to comment on reports that al-Batsh was a member of Hamas or had been targeted by hitmen. "It's too early to say, we are still investigating all aspects." A Hamas statement said al-Batsh was "assassinated at treacherous hands on Saturday…as he walked for the dawn prayers."

Officials in Israel declined to comment.
"We can say no more"

That rules out the Mossad. The only others that wanted him dead was Hamas.

UN envoy tells ‘outrageous’ Israel to stop shooting children in Gaza
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinians say four killed, including a 15-year-old boy; Israel urges UN to condemn Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, for 'despicable exploitation of women and kiddies'

The United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
envoy to the region on Friday slammed Israel’s response to the Gazoo protests as "outrageous" and called on the IDF to stop shooting children after four Paleostinians, including a 15-year-old boy, were killed during festivities along the Gazoo border fence.

"It is OUTRAGEOUS to shoot at children!" tweeted UN Middle East peace envoy Nickolay Mladenov.

"How does the killing of a child in #Gazoo today help #peace? It doesn’t! It fuels anger and breeds more killing. #Children must be protected from #violence, not exposed to it, not killed! This tragic incident must be investigated," he wrote.

However,
ars longa, vita brevis...
Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon called on the international body to condemn Hamas’ use of children as a cover for their terror activities.

"Hamas continues to encourage violence against Israel while rioters use Molotov Cocktails and other means to damage the border fence and try and return to Israeli territory," Danon said.

"I call on the UN representatives to condemn Hamas for encouraging violence, continuing to strive to create instability and the despicable exploitation of women and kiddies by placing them in harm’s way," Danon said.

Some 3,000 Paleostinians protested along the Gazoo border with Israel on Friday,
...Week 1 had 30,000, Week 2 had 20,000, Week 3 had 10,000, and this was the fourth Friday protest...
burning tires and flying flaming kites across the frontier to set Israeli fields ablaze, witnesses and the army said. Soldiers responded with tear gas and live fire, killing four Paleostinians, including the 15-year-old, according to the Hamas run-health ministry.

Israel’s army said it was looking into the incidents.

In all the Gazoo ministry said that some 445 people were maimed, including 96 from live fire.

These brought to 39 the number of fatalities from the border demonstrations and festivities dubbed the March of Return, which took place for the fourth time Friday, according to the health ministry figures. The numbers could not be verified by Israel.

Hamas has acknowledged that several of those killed were its members, and Israel has identified other fatalities as members of terrorist groups.

Huge black plumes of smoke from the blazing tires engulfed the area, as Israeli troops fired tear gas and live bullets, witnesses said.

Israel accuses Hamas of using civilian shields, including women and kiddies, as cover for carrying out attacks along the border.

Hundreds were clashing with Israeli forces, an AFP correspondent said.
Ynet adds:
The Gazoo Health Ministry says 445 Paleostinians have been maimed in protests on the Gazoo-Israel border, including 96 who were maimed by Israeli army fire.

The officials say that of those injured Friday, 174 were transferred to hospitals and 271 treated in field clinics. Some of the injured were overcome by tear gas, hit with rubber-coated steel pellets or hit by shrapnel.
Another Times of Israel article adds:
The Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,-run health ministry in Gazoo says 729 Paleostinians were maimed in festivities with Israeli troops on the border Friday, including 156 from live fire. It does not provide details on the circumstances of their injuries.
Dawn adds:
Gazooks also flew dozens of kites near the border fence, in some cases carrying Molotov cocktails and one with a swastika painted on it, in a new tactic that sparked at least two small fires in Israeli territory this week.

Israel says it has only opened fire when necessary to guard its border and prevent violence, but no Israelis have been maimed and its open-fire rules have come under scrutiny.

ISIL’s 3 year reign in southern Damascus ends after one night of strikes by Syrian, Russian forces

(ISIS) ruled over most of southern Damascus for over three years; however, their reign would come to an abrupt end, today, after they were forced to endure a night of nonstop strikes from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Russian Aerospace Forces.

Backed by their Paleostinian and Russian allies, the Syrian Arab Army kicked off their offensive in southern Damascus at 7 P.M. (Damascus Time), yesterday, marking the first time in years that their forces had launched an operation of this magnitude in southern Damascus.

The Syrian military attack would last for over 15 hours, with the Islamic State suffering heavy casualties as a result of the nonstop Arclight airstrikes and missiles.

By dawn on Friday, the Islamic State was far more receptive to the Syrian Arab Army’s terms and later accepted a deal that would have their forces transferred to the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

While ISIS’s leadership in southern Damascus accepted the terms of deal, a small batch of fighters in Yarmouk Camp refused to comply with this agreement.

The Syrian Army is now heavily shelling these Lions of Islam in order to eliminate them and restore order to al-Qadam, Tadamon, Yarmouk Camp, and Hajar al-Aswad.

’s (ISIS) leadership agreed to surrender their positions in the southern districts of Damascus, today, following an unprecedented amount of air and rocket strikes on their defenses last night.

However,
the hip bone's connected to the leg bone...
while the Islamic State’s leadership agreed to surrender their positions, several rogue Death Eaters have refused to give up their fight in southern Damascus.

In response to these terrorists, the Syrian Army’s Elite Republican Guard and their Paleostinian allies have kicked off ground operations in the Yarmouk Camp and al-Qadam districts.

Last rebel areas in east Qalamoun to be surrendered to Syrian gov’t on Saturday
[ALMASDARNEWS] Jaish Thuwar al-Sham’s resistance in the eastern Qalamoun was short-lived, as they agreed to surrender their last positions to the Syrian government on Friday.
Allied with the YPG...
According to a military source in Damascus city, the last towns under Jaish Thuwar al-Sham’s control in the eastern Qalamoun region will be handed over to the government on Saturday, along with their heavy weapons.

Evacuations in the towns of Ruhaybah، Jayroud, and al-Nassiryah will begin on Saturday morning, following the entrance of Russian and Syrian military police and buses.

Once the last members of Jaish Thuwar al-Sham leave these three towns, the entire eastern Qalamoun region will be under Syrian government control for the first time since the advent of this conflict.
