Gawairi attacks Turkey, reaches out to Tunisia, expects little help from UN
[Libya Herald] The Beida-based government's information chief, Omar Gawairi, has claimed that the government has evidence of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
providing support to what he called "terrorist groups" in Libya. Speaking in an interview broadcast on Egyptian TV on the position taken on Libya by a number of countries, he said the most blatant evidence of Turkey's stand was the fact that it was allowing maimed "terrorists" to be treated in Turkish hospitals while others were being given shelter there.

The Thinni government, he confirmed, had decided to end Turkish contracts but this would be passed to the House of Representatives to vote on. Those contracts, he suggested, could be given to Italian and Egyptian companies -- especially, in the case of the latter, construction contracts.

The fact that Italian and Egyptians companies might be reluctant to accept such contracts because they might be sued by affected Turkish companies was not addressed.

A number of countries, Gawairi claimed, were giving technical assistance to Libya Dawn
...aka Fajr Libya, the Islamist operation launched to counter that of General Khalifa Haftar (Operation Dignity). It is made up of the Libya Shield militia (Misrata and Moslem Brotherhood), Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (Moslem Brotherhood), and Tripoli Brigade (close to Abdul Hakim Belhaj, head of Al-Watan party). Financing and moral support come from Turkey and Qatar...
, including providing spare parts and upkeep for military aircraft. The only country he named was Sudan which, he alleged, had an aircraft maintenance team at Jufra airbase, near Hun. Again, he said, the government had the evidence, including names of the technicians and voice recordings.

Criticism was directed too at the UK and the US.

In the case of the UN Security Council and the government's request for sanctions on arms supplies to be lifted, Libyans should not hold out much hope of it happening, he said. Libya would have to rely instead of support from "friendly countries". Thanks to it the government had been able to continue the fight against the "terrorists", he stated. But that support could not be military intervention, he insisted. It was purely a matter of arms supplies.

Holding out olive branch to Tunisia following last week's row over Tunisian plans to reopen its consulate in Tripoli

as well as one in Tobruk, Guwairi said that there had been a misunderstanding. In fact the Libya government recognised that the Tunisian authorities had to look after the interests of its citizens in Tripoli and had taken the decision in that light, he explained. Fundamentally, though, there were no differences between the two governments.

Libya Dawn says Zintanis must surrender before any ceasefire
[Libya Herald] Both the House of Representatives (HoR) and the General National Congress have agreed to turn up on Thursday to the next round of the UN-brokered dialogue process, to be held in Morocco.

The HoR, which had pulled out of the process a week ago following the bombings in Guba, performed its U-turn following talks in Tobruk between members of its dialogue committee and UN Special Envoy to Libya Bernadino Leon. He had flown in to try and convince the HoR to change its mind.

Nonetheless, according to Benghazi HoR member Aisa Al-Araibi, the House laid down a number of conditions for rejoining the dialogue. These are that the international community accept that it is the only legitimate parliament in Libya, that any government of national unity which emerges from the dialogue process must be approved by it, and that it is understood that the Libyan army is fighting terrorism.

Leon then flew to Tripoli

to meet the General National Congress' dialogue committee. This evening, following the meeting, Deputy Congress President-for-Life Saleh
... exemplifying the Arab's propensity to combine brutality with incompetence...
Makhzoum, the leader of its delegation to the talks, announced that his group would go to Morocco on Thursday. He also stressed that Congress wanted to find a solution.

Despite the breakthrough, hopes for a halt to the fighting appear remote. Last Thursday, Leon was in Zuwara meeting commanders of Libya Dawn

to encourage them to accept a ceasefire in support of the dialogue.

Despite reports that the military Joint Operations Room, which includes Libya Dawn, had accepted the need for a ceasefire as well as a statement from UNSMIL that "the participants agreed on the principle of a ceasefire and underlined the need to end the bloodshed in Libya and engage in dialogue", Libya Dawn's media office has said that "no ceasefire agreement was reached."

US envoy to Yemen says Hadi 'legitimate' president
[Al Ahram] The US envoy to Yemen threw his support behind President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi after talks in the southern port city of Aden on Monday, saying he remains the "legitimate" leader.

Ambassador Matthew Tueller was the latest high-profile diplomat to travel to Aden, Hadi's base since he fled effective house arrest in the capital last month following a power grab by the Shiite Huthi militia.

"President Hadi remains the legitimate president of Yemen and the key person to ensure that Yemen moves forward on a peaceful and stable path," Tueller told news hounds after meeting Hadi.

The United States closed its embassy in Sanaa indefinitely last month and evacuated diplomats and staff due to the worsening security situation.

The Huthis, who had long fought the Sanaa regime from their northern stronghold, overran the capital in September and moved on to occupy the seats of power in February.

They named a "presidential council" after Western-backed Hadi and Prime Minister Khalid Bahah tendered their resignations in January in protest at what critics branded an attempted coup.

Hadi retracted his resignation shortly after resurfacing in Aden, while Bahah remains under house arrest in the capital.

The Huthis oppose a plan to divide the republic into six federal regions -- a roadmap agreed on during national dialogue stipulated in a peace deal brokered by Gulf neighbours and sponsored by the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...

Bangladesh
RAB: Farabi shows no remorse, denies involvement in the murder
[Dhaka Tribune] Shafiur Rahman Farabi, prime suspect in the Avijit killing, has said during interrogation that the slain blogger-writer "has got what he deserved."

Although he claimed that he had nothing to do with the murder, Farabi praised the incident saying Avijit got the reward for mocking religion.

Ziaul Ahsan, additional director general (ADG) of RAB, told these to the Dhaka Tribune yesterday.

Earlier in the day, Rapid Action Battalion brought Farabi in front of news hounds and said he had been nabbed from the capital's Jatrabari around 5:30am; he was trying to leave for Chittagong.

Meanwhile,
...back at the dirigible, Jack stuck the cigar in his mouth, stepped onto the gantry, and asked Got a light, Mac?

Von Schtinken stopped short, lowering the dagger and trying to control his features.

If you light that thing, Herr Armschtröng, he pointed out, his voice tense, we all die!...

seeking anonymity, a high official of RAB told the Dhaka Tribune that analysing CCTV footage from around the scene of the crime, they had identified five people who were following Avijit and his wife Bonna from the book fair premises.

"In the footage, one of those five men could be seen pointing at the couple when they were leaving the fair. Later, they went away and another team started following Avijit and Bonna," the RAB official said.

While addressing a briefing at the force's headquarters in Uttara in the capital, Commander Mufti Mahmud Khan, director of the Legal and Media Wing of RAB, told news hounds yesterday that they have proofs that Farabi was involved with the killing.

Farabi had been posting photographs and news about Avijit and his family on social media for a long time and instigate others against him, Commander Khan said.

"On Thursday, one of his Facebook friends posted a photograph of Avijit soaked in blood and asked Farabi whether he had seen that photo. In reply, Farabi said yes.

"After that, Farabi wrote in a status update that he would be jugged
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
within a day or two," Commander Khan said at the briefing.

The RAB director also cited another widely-discussed post put up by Farabi on social media in which he said Avijit would be killed once he came to Bangladesh from the USA.

In reply to a query, Commander Khan said: "No accused ever admit involvement right away. Information come out only after interrogation. We are still not sure whether Farabi was directly involved with the killing or not."

According to RAB, Farabi said during primary investigation that he came across Avijit Roy five years ago as both of them used to blog. At one point, they got into a conflict of opinions. Around two years ago, Avijit blocked Farabi. But Farabi kept on sending messages and threats using other media.

In 2010, Farabi, a former student of physics at the Chittagong University, joined banned Islamist Death Eater outfit Hizb-ut Tahrir. At that time, he got arrested and spent about a month in jail for his militancy links. He never completed his studies.

In February 2013, Farabi was arrested by police again after he gave threats to the Imam who conducted the janaza or the funeral prayer another slain blogger and Gonojagoron Moncho supporter Rajib Haider. He however was freed on bail in August of that year.

RAB also said Farabi was among those who commented under the Twitter post of a group named "Ansar Bangla-7" that rejoiced the murder of Avijit.

Later in the day, RAB handed Farabi over to the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) who are investigating the murder.

Khaleda unlikely to appear before court tomorrow
[Dhaka Tribune] BNP Chairperson the loathesome Khaleda Zia
Three-term PM of Bangla, widow of deceased dictator Ziaur Rahman, head of the Bangla Nationalist Party, an apparent magnet for corruption ...
is unlikely to appear in court tomorrow in the Zia Orphanage Trust and Zia Charitable Trust cases, even though the court issued an arrest warrant against her for earlier skipping a deposition hearing.

"As there is a security concern, she might not appear before the court," Khaleda's lawyer, Sanaullah Miah, told the Dhaka Tribune yesterday.

A Dhaka court on February 25 issued an arrest warrant against Khaleda in two graft cases, cancelling the time petition filed by her lawyer.

Khaleda last attended trial proceedings on December 24, the day festivities broke out between police, supporters of the BNP and supporters of the ruling Awami League in the Bakshibazar area of the capital.

"How can she [Khaleda] appear before the court? There was not enough security for her in the court area last time. She came under attack there. Even her lawyers were obstructed from talking to her. What scope is there for her to appear before the court?" Sanaullah said.

A Dhaka court earlier issued a search warrant for Khaleda's Gulshan office, where she has been residing since January 3, to search it for explosives and a communication device that police claim Khaleda is using to coordinate the countrywide sabotage.

Police sources said they had not yet received a copy of the warrant.

Sources at the political leader's Gulshan office said messages were sent out to the party's district units to continue with the movement even if Khaleda is incarcerated

Britain
Human rights liars lawyers
h/t Instapundit
Human rights lawyers smeared British soldiers with false accusations of the torture and murder or innocent Iraqis, a government dossier claims.

A report drawn up on the Prime Minister's orders claims Public Interest Lawyers (PIL) pursued claims against soldiers despite realizing the allegations of abuse might have been 'untrue'.

It comes after a public inquiry spent ÂŁ31million exonerating British soldiers of claims they went they went on a killing and torture spree following a fierce battle in southern Iraq in 2004.

Russia's Lavrov says crimes against Mideast Christians 'genocide'
[Al Ahram] Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday crimes committed against Christians in the Middle East were tantamount to "genocide", joining other high-ranking diplomats in calling for action.

Like other minorities, Christians have been the target of brutal violence waged by jihadists in countries such as Libya or Syria.

"There are awful crimes, Christians are killed, they are burnt alive, 21 Egyptian Copts have been beheaded in Libya, all these are signs of genocide following the definition of the UN," Lavrov said on the sidelines of the main annual session of the United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
Human Rights Council in Geneva.

He added that Christians were also persecuted in Ukraine, where "three priests have been killed, many fled to Russia."

Gebran Bassil, the Lebanese foreign minister, also painted a dark picture of the situation of Christians in the Middle East.

"Twenty years ago, in Iraq, there were one million Christians, in 2014, there were 400,000 and today, 200,000," he said.

"Cases of violence have strongly increased, as have reported cases of collective rapes as punishment.

"There are a lot of trafficking cases of children and women," he added, asking whether Christians would one day feel obliged to leave the Middle East altogether.

"It is time to take action," he said.

#1  It would be most ironic if Russia used the genocide/persecution of Christians in the ME as an excuse to take the lead in battling the scourge of ISIS et al.

From persecuting Christians and Jews to defending them to actively participating in the battle...hmmmm....is this what leading from the front might look like? Or do we still have to look toward France for that model of behavior?

Five of the indicted "agreed to go to the war in Syria and join the group of Albanians who fight on the side of the terrorist organization ISIL", known also as IS, the Kosovo prosecutor's office said in a statement.

Two others, including a holy man, were charged with recruiting fighters or "urging other persons to commit or participate in the commission of terrorist acts," the statement said.

separately from June-October 2014. Five defendants, including the imam, have remained in detention since being taken into custody, while one suspect is under house arrest and another is out on bail, according to a prosecutor's front man.

The indictment was the latest in a series of efforts by authorities in Kosovo to prosecute radical Islamists, recruiters or fighters.

The interior ministry estimates that around 300 Kosovars have joined the Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq. Half of them have been prosecuted so far, according to Interior Minister Skender Hyseni.

Most of Kosovo's 90-percent Albanian majority are moderate Moslems with strong pro-Western sentiments.

Turkey has plan-B to by-pass Austrian law on Islam
[Hurriyet Daily News] The head of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
's Religious Affairs, or Diyanet, has once again reacted to a recent Austrian code, which caused debate with items that regulates Islam in the country, saying that the body a plan-B to by-pass the code by training a number of Turkish-origin imams in Turkey before they return to the European country as religious officials.

On Feb. 25, the Austrian Parliament passed a law the updated "Law on Islam," which was prepared by the coalition of the Social Democratic Party and the People's Party, aims to regulate how Islam is managed inside the country and includes provisions requiring imams to be able to speak German, standardizing the Koran in the German language, and banning Islamic organizations from receiving foreign funding.

The code also projects sending back religious service cadre back to their countries in three years.
So three years of training in Turkish in Turkey, followed by three years or so of training in German in Austria. After which the authorities will be suspicious of their loyalties forever more, and may decide not to allow them to practice after all. Or, three years in Austria only, and the trust of the authorities. I know what I'd choose -- and I enjoyed my school years.
"We have a second preparation, a plan-B on the issue," Diyanet head Mehmet Görmez told Anadolu Agency in the Mediterranean province of Antalya. "Sons of Turkish families who have immigrated to Europe, who have become Europeans, are having religious training in Turke. Inshallah they will provide the best service when the return to their own countries."

Along with Görmez, top Turkish officials, including President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...

Turkish journalist arrested over fabricated evidence in Balyoz case
[Hurriyet Daily News] Journalist Mehmet Baransu was tossed in the calaboose
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
on March 2 after being detained by anti-terror police in Istanbul in an operation over fabricated CDs that were used as evidence in the Balyoz (Sledgehammer) coup plot case.

Police detained Baransu late on March 1 after searching his home for almost 10 hours, seizing a number of documents. He was arrested in the afternoon, Dogan News Agency reported.

Baransu is accused of "forming a criminal organization," as well as procuring, publicizing and then destroying "documents related to the state's interests at home and abroad."

Baransu, a news hound for daily Taraf, broke the story of the Sledgehammer coup plot case by delivering a suitcase full of documents on the allegations to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in January 2010. The suitcase included CDs, tapes, printed documents and handwritten notes as evidence for the coup case.

Sledgehammer is an alleged military coup plot against the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) drafted in 2003. The military is alleged to have planned drastic measures to foment unrest in the country in order to remove the AKP from power.

Those measures included bombing two major mosques in Istanbul, an assault on a military museum by people disguised as religious Death Eaters and the raising of tension with Greece through an attack on a Turkish plane and blaming the incident on the Aegean neighbor.

An Istanbul court had sentenced 331 of the 365 suspects to prison terms on Sept. 21, 2012, while 34 suspects were acquitted. Three retired generals were convicted to life on charges of "attempting to overthrow the government by force," but the terms were later reduced to 20 years because of the "incomplete attempt at staging a coup," the court said.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
's Constitutional Court delivered a landmark ruling in June 2014 deciding that the rights of a majority of the convicted suspects in the Sledgehammer coup plot case were violated concerning "digital data and the defendants' testimonies." All 236 Balyoz suspects and convicts, including high-ranking generals, were released directly after the top court's ruling and there are currently no people under arrest in the case, while the retrial of the case began on Nov. 3, 2014.

A Dec. 15, 2014, expert report has revealed that key pieces of evidence in the case were fabricated, stating that the notes on two CDs were written by a machine, not handwritten by General Suha Tanyeri as previously alleged.

Another expert report dated Feb. 17, revealed that more pieces of evidence in the case were fabricated.

"The team concludes that some additional files and folders were uploaded on hard disk number 5 after July 28, 2009, and that the dates of these files and folders are not up to date," according to a report by a team of experts that was read to the court.

of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz stated on March 2.

As Ankara is currently planning to provide training to members of some Sunni tribes around Mosul as part of efforts to degrade and defeat jihadists in northern Iraq, bilateral cooperation with Baghdad in the fight against the ISIL could be concretized during Yilmaz's upcoming visit to Iraq.

Turkey is part of the collation against ISIL and "has started to make a concrete contribution," Yilmaz told news hounds, amid speculation about the planned upcoming operation to force the jihadists out of Mosul.

"We'll carry out the evaluation for further contribution in due course, based on our national interests. Ultimately we'll fulfill our responsibility as a coalition member," he added.

Citing recent remarks by Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Yilmaz said Turkey was "ready to fulfill its responsibilities if others do so too."

He is set to travel to Iraq on March 4 to visit both Baghdad and Arbil, accompanied by officials from both the Foreign Ministry and the Turkish Armed Forces.

During the visit, Turkish and Iraqi officials are expected to sign bilateral agreements for the sharing of intelligence information as part of efforts in the fight against the ISIL threat, according to sources.

I am sure a lot of behind the scenes effort was made by Israel to bring Obama into the light during the past 6 years. But finally you have to give up trying.

He made those comments to now make himself look good, knowing that nothing he says will make Obama a better man. So why stoop to Obama's level? And just as expected, after all the nice things Net said of O, O continued to pout.

Pakistan wastes $3.7 million worth of donated vaccine
[DAWN] Pakistain has wasted $3.7 million worth of vaccines donated to protect children from deadly diseases because officials failed to store them properly, a senior health official told Rooters on Monday.

The scandal is the latest problem to be exposed in Pakistain's poorly run public health services.

"We have suspended the officials concerned and are conducting an inquiry," Saira Afzal Tarar, minister of state for national health services, told Rooters.

The ruined vaccines were pentavalent vaccines, which combine different vaccines in one injection and are supposed to protect children against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hepatitis B and a bacteria that causes meningitis and pneumonia.

It must be stored at cold temperatures to remain effective but Pakistain's power sector is chronically mismanaged and the country suffers several hours of power cuts a day.

Officials said the vaccines were exposed to fluctuating temperatures, possibly because of faulty generators. "There may have been issue with the generators, but the facts will become clear after the inquiry," said Dr Saqlain Ahmad Gilani, the national programme manager at the Expanded Programme on Immunisation.

He said 1.3 million doses of vaccine worth $3.7 million had been wasted. They had been donated by the United Nations

Shiite militia recruiting Yezidis, strengthening foothold in Shingal
[RUDAW.NET] The Shiite militia formally known as the People's Mobilization Forces appears to be strengthening its foothold in the Yezidi town of Shingal by recruiting Yezidis and paying them money, an official told Rudaw.

The encroachment of the Shiite militia in the area goes against official Kurdish policy against the move.

Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani
... hereditary head of the Kurdish Democratic Party, maybe a little too close to the Medes and the Persians for most people's tastes...
asked the Peshmerga minister last month to stop all militia activities in the area, but a Yezidi official says that a number of young men from the religious minority have registered to join the Shiites.

He said that the Shiite militia had already given out the first salaries to the new members in the Shingal area last month.

Meanwhile Haider Shasho, head of the Shingal Mobilization Force, told Rudaw that his force of Yezidi recruits is becoming more popular in Shingal and that no one has tried to dismantle it.

"People constantly join us; they like to join our group," said Shasho.

The Kurdish military formed a Yezidi force shortly after Shingal fell to the Islamic State

(ISIS) last August, but Erbil has not been able to pay members of the force.

"If these people do not get paid I won't be able to stop anyone from joining the Shiite militia," said the Yezidi official, on condition of anonymity. "I can't even stop my own brother."

He urged Kurdish military authorities to formally integrate the young Yezidis into the Kurdish Peshmerga and provide financial support to prevent any further defection to the Shiite militia.

"These people are all from Shingal, they are displaced, they live in terrible condition and they need money," he explained.

Shingal, a predominantly Yezidi town, was devastated after ISIS stormed the town and unleashed a campaign of murder, looting, rape and abducting women for sex slavery.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Hamas rebuilding rocket arsenal to counter potential Israel attack
[Iran Press TV] The Paleostinian resistance movement, Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,, is rebuilding its rocket arsenal in order to be prepared to respond to any potential aggression by the Israeli regime.

Marwan Eissa, a commander of Hamas' military wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, said on Monday that the group is not seeking any conflict with Israel, but is making sure its forces "are reinforced in case of a confrontation."

He added that the resistance movement, which governs the besieged Gazoo Strip, is "continuing to make rockets."

Hamas resorted to its rockets to defend the coastal enclave against Israeli attacks during the regime's latest war on Gazoo last summer.

Israel unleashed attacks on the Paleostinian territory in early July 2014 and later expanded its military campaign with a ground invasion of Gazoo. The war ended in late August that year. Nearly 2,200 Paleostinians bit the dust and some 11,000 were maimed in the attacks. Gazoo Health officials say the victims included 578 children and nearly 260 women.

The Gazoo Strip has been under a crippling Israeli siege since 2007. The blockade, which has cut off the territory from the outside world, has led to an economic and humanitarian crisis in the densely-populated enclave.

Israel not only defies international calls to lift the brutal siege, but also does not allow construction materials into Gazoo.

Iran blames West for rise of Islamic State group
[RUDAW.NET] Iran's foreign minister has accused the West of fueling Islamic extremism by failing to protect the rights of Moslem immigrants.

Mohammad Javad Zarif told the Geneva-based U.N. Human Rights Council on Monday that "a sizeable number" of those joining the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. group and others were second-generation immigrants in western democracies.

He noted that some of those "beheading innocent civilians speak European languages with native accents" -- a veiled reference to "Jihadi John," who appeared in several IS propaganda videos showing the execution of the group's prisoners.

"Jihadi John" was revealed last week to be Mohammed Emwazi, a young man raised in London.

Zarif also repeated his country's previous claim that western efforts to promote human rights

US targeting 'Jihadi John,' senator says

executioner, a senior Democratic senator said.

London graduate Mohammed Emwazi was unmasked by media this week as allegedly the English-speaking executioner responsible for the beheading of at least five Western hostages held by the IS group in Syria and Iraq.

Asked whether the US was "going after" Emwazi specifically, Feinstein responded affirmatively.

"Oh, yes. He's a target. There should be no question about that," the former Senate Intelligence Committee chair told CBS television's "Face the Nation."

The Kuwait-born computer expert, believed to be 26 or 27 years old, appeared for the first time in a video during the execution of American journalist James Foley in 2014.

He presided over numerous killings, and delivered English messages in execution videos.

Feinstein said Emwazi's story of Western disaffection spoke to a "major problem" confronted by Western nations.

"What it tells us is that there are many young people, and you can see this by the number of tweets on Twitter, who are so disaffected," she said.

"Whether they feel rejected socially, whether they feel they don't have an opportunity, whether they feel this country is anti-Moslem, which it is not, I don't know."

Terrorists only use Saudis as cannon fodder
[ARABNEWS] The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
terror group is beset with deep-rooted conflicts, said Manie Al-Manie, a former member of the organization who is back in the Kingdom. "Sectarian and racist conflicts prevail among its members," he told news hounds.

He said many of them ill-treated Saudis because they were the most knowledgeable on Shariah regulations. IS leaders sent Saudis on suicide missions to finish them off, he said while explaining his difficult days under the IS rule.

Al-Manie said he had seen some members rejecting the orders of leaders while some others were not ready to obey the leadership.

"I noticed they clearly targeted the Saudis by calling them backward and Bedouin," he said. "IS has no system. It's a bunch of groups who work to pursue their vested interests. There is no coordination among them," he added.

Al-Manie said children were forced to carry out suicide operations against their will and that of their parents. "They exploit the situation of people and the murderous Moslem ideology to kill innocent people."

He said many IS recruits were not happy with killings and other terrorist operations. "Many members are looking for a chance to leave the organization forever," he pointed out.

He said there is confusion in the organization, especially in matters about Shariah. "Their conscience doesn't prick when they kill the innocent. They murder men and women without making sure the charges against them."

Al-Manie made these comments while participating in a talk show on Saudi Channel One. "Killing has become a kind of disease among the IS bad boys. They consider their opponents infidels and apostates who deserve capital punishment. Some of them have even killed their own colleagues," he said.

Saudi bloggers have urged authorities not to show any leniency toward Al-Manie, adding that it would encourage other Saudis to join the group. Al-Manie had rejected his allegiance to the Saudi leadership and pledged allegiance to the IS leadership.

Not exactly. The "Chechens", i.e., the Russian-speakers, are based in Syria and often used as shock troops against other rebel groups, as well as enforcers attached to regular IS units. There are also other groups that are handled differently due to alliances and other considerations.

'Jihadi John' won't have the same impact unmasked
[Dhaka Tribune] As "Jihadi John," he was a terrifying figure, his identity concealed by a black mask, his threatening tone backed up by his oversize, serrated knife and his willingness to use it in the name of Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
and its self-declared caliphate.

His professional-looking videos began with a political rant and ended with his victims lying dead at his feet, severed heads cupped in the sands of Syria. He seemed both judge and executioner, savoring each fresh kill.

After the 9/11 attacks on the US, many believed that bandidos gunnies would turn to crude weapons of mass destructions to attack cities. Few predicted that a man with a knife and a video production team could have such an impact using a medieval technique.

Now that he has been exposed as Mohammed Emwazi, the tall man with the British accent and mocking tone is no longer a mystery. He is revealed as one more furious young Londoner, in this case a well-educated, middle-class jihadi in his mid-20s who turned against his adopted country after he moved to Britannia from Kuwait as a boy.

His unmasking may well have reduced his usefulness to the cause.

For one thing, with his identity known, and the global distribution of pictures of him looking slightly goofy in an ill-fitting Pittsburgh Pirates baseball cap, Emwazi may become less sinister to viewers, less able to send chills up the spines of people who abhor Islamic State's claim to be killing civilians in the name of Islam.

If he kills again on camera, the element of surprise will be gone and the reaction may well be, "Oh, him again."

Also, now that authorities know who he is, there is little doubt he will become the target of a drone attack if the US or Britannia can learn his precise whereabouts. The pressure on him could make him less valuable to Islamic State snuffies - perhaps even a liability.

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS/ISIS), local media reported on Monday.

The Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reported that Asil Nujaifi, Iraqi official governor of Mosul, confirmed that Turkey will take part in the ground operation that will be conducted by the Iraqi army with U.S. support, in order to "liberate Mosul" from the IS turbans.

On the other hand, a Turkish bigwig said that the Turkish forces are not ready yet to join the ground operation against IS in Mosul, adding that Turkey may limit its contribution to logistics, according to the newspaper.

Officials in Ankara did not comment on Nujaifi's remarks.

The anti-IS operation in Mosul, which is planned by the U.S.-led international coalition's forces and the Iraqi army, is expected to take place in few months.

Turkish political activist Mohammed Dawood told ARA News that everything is expected from Turkey, which aspires for a greater role in the region and the world, and to achieve this ambition, Turkey should show good intentions of engaging in the U.S.-led operations against IS group.

"However,
a lie repeated often enough remains a lie...
such a participation may cost Turkey more terrorist attacks. Thus, Turkey will take more assertive decisions in the fight against krazed killer groups," Dawood added.

How Islamic is Islamic State group? Not very, experts say

They are among tens of thousands of Moslems eager to pledge allegiance to the Islamic State group. An estimated 20,000 have streamed into the territory in Iraq and Syria where the group has proclaimed what it calls a "caliphate" ruled by its often brutal version of Islamic law.

#1  The issue of the attraction of ISIS is the clear definition of black versus white, good versus evil, acceptable behavior versus unacceptable behavior.

With most religions equivocating on issues of right and wrong, muddling along in shades of gray and political correctness, the disenchanted, disconnected, and lost will gravitate toward something that provides clear direction on how to live.

If Christianity, Judaism, and Buddhism would provide a less namby pamby approach to rules for living, how to live your life, right versus wrong, and a clear cut morality, the attraction of wacko fringe groups with extreme interpretations of religion would not be so great. The wackos may be johnny one note but they provide clear cut rules for living, albeit radical and antisocial.

The great nihilism of the mass media, the routine attacks on people of faith in the media and in academia has created a huge mass of lost souls looking for direction. Unfortunately, western religions do not have a strong beacon of faith these days in their politically correct interpretations of the Bible and the Torah. Pope John Paul was loved by the youth of Europe because his interpretation of theology was completely black and white, there were no shades of gray in his writings, the same for Pope Benedict, not so much for Pope Francis who has been a theological disappointment in his muddling of politically correct social issues with Catholic Orthodoxy.

When the leaders of the denominations of Christianity and Judaism are willing to stand up and contradict the progressive/atheistic agenda of the left with hard rules for living, the attraction offered by the lunatic fringe will decline.

#3  "Those who pervert Islam are not those who cut off the heads of disbelievers and terrorize them," he wrote, "but those who want (Islam) to be like Mandela or Gandhi, with no killing, no fighting, no blood or striking necks."

Islam, he wrote, is the religion "of battle, of cutting heads, of shedding blood

Sums up the battle within Islam. Who is following the true Islam?

#5  You got that right. These people are cowardly. It is easy for them to behead or burn someone in a cage who is defenseless.

#6  Ask these scholars if it is uncool to wrap the bodies of dead ISIS in bacon products. If they truly believe they are not Islamic they shouldn't mind (a waste of good bacon is another story).

I suspect they would mind because down deep they know what the prophet said had a lot to do with the conditions on the ground at the time and that ISIS is doing a lot of things the prophet would have liked to have done.

#7  Let the young suckers travel to Isis. It is a dump for stupid. Maybe others wil learn from them. Besides, Isis is a self destructive organization. In the long run.

#8  These are the same people who say you are not a real Christian if you don't support homosexuality and abortion. Without getting into it socially, the rules are listed pretty straight forward.

Second, without arguing whether this is or is not islam, if they win, then it is. So what is a win?

#4  “But this isn’t a standard case of double-speak, where they get caught between one of these guys saying one thing for Western audiences and then turning around and saying the opposite when talking to his own people. Here we have Sheik Tayeb’s quote about ‘global colonialism allied to world Zionism’ in the very same article that they tweeted out. It’s as if they didn’t read past the first few graphs.”

More like they don't expect their target audience to read more than the tweet.

To be fair, people like us are not their target audience... and they believe as an article of faith that we're stupid Luddites.
