Al-Shabaab suspect nabbed in Mogadishu after failed grenade attack

The young man attacked the residence of Liban Madaxweyne, a senior Somali military commander in the Hodon district during the evening. However,

his bomb did not explode.
He was apprehended while trying to escape from the scene by the security forces and he is now under interrogation at a police custody. The suspect is set to be arraigned in court.
The security of the capital has been improving since the reelection of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud as the 10th president of Somalia in May last year by the Federal parliament.
"Residents of Mogadishu expressing satisfaction and confidence with the government," said Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, who hailed the efforts of the security agencies.
This comes as the Somali government taking over security responsibility of key bases and facilities, including the presidential palace and parliament house from AU troops.
