#1 This is supposed to be a feel good story but IMO this is awful and sends an awful message.

Americans in the US are unsuccessfully trying to protect a US flag in a place where it is legitimately and rightfully flown.

During their futile attemt they are physically accosted and humiliated, bringing shame and dishonor to themselves, the US and Western Civilization according to the standards of Honor-Shame cultures.

The flag that then replaces and triumphs over Old Glory symbolizes a polity pretty much opposed to all fundamental tenets and virtues of Western Civilization.

The flag of the US is then restored only for a brief period of time, then the flag pole is left empty.

And this awful event is inextricably linked to an anti jewish and anti western genocidal massacre that had the murderous intensity of the Rape of Manila.

What conclusions will Putin's, Xi's, Khamanei's, Kim's etc psychological profilers draw from this and other similar incidents?

US security guarantees for North Carolina, DC and Manhattan are de facto not credible.

Why should any rational actor take security guarantees for South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, or even Alaska seriously?
