And therein lies a rub. Do we interpret the present world "Insurgency-burdened" condition as (1) One large war with a number of tendrils; or(2) a buncha small wars with differing goals and hierarchies thereof consisting?
The answer to this question chooses a starting point for winnowing means of resistance and/or efficient countermeasures...?
....not going to go snarky on the good General....wonder what he's going thru at home and at holidays....

"TWO WARS, TWO PAIRS OF FRENEMIES", iff we include the US-vs-China in Asia-Pacific.
As per WORLD MILITARY FORUM > CHINA = is positioning itself as an EQUAL OF SUPERPOWER US, hence is unabashedly willing to be unilaterally MilPol "aggressive", even "authoritarian/
dictatorial" to its neighbors
in East-South Asia.
All of China's on-going disputes around East-SOuth Asia + USA are linked to the above, not just historicities.
On CNN's State of the Union this morning, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) told Candy Crowley that the IRS scandal involving targeting of conservatives had been "solved." Crowley asked, "As far as you are concerned, based on the information that you now have, which in its totality is greater than ours, is this case over, have you solved the case of the IRS and how this came to be?" Simply toss the peanuts Candy. Don't stick your hand in there. Nobody, nobody lays a leading question out there better than Candy Crowley...
Cummings answered, "Based upon everything I've seen, the case is solved. If it were me, I'd wrap this case up and move on." Another Susan Rice Sunday Talk Show sing along. Elijah picked up on the leading question, did he?
Cummings added that he would release transcripts of IRS employee interviews this week if House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) did not do so. "I want every syllable of those transcripts to be released," said Cummings. "If he does not release them, I will. Period." Even the "megadata" ? Oh, throw us into the briar patch...
Cummings said that employees in Cincinnati have denied White House involvement in the creation of anti-conservative standards, and pointed out that the supervisor at the IRS office in Cincinnati described himself as a "conservative Republican." Cummings called this revelation "very significant." A republican to blame you say? If you can't trust Electric Sliding IRS employees, then who can you trust ?

It'll be solved as soon as either Civil Service is suspended or we give every Congressmen 3 free CS firing cards per year to summarily dismiss without retention of pay or retirement or reemployment rights of any government employee. Pour encourager les autres.

About time. He's been pampered and protected by a liberal press for a long time. I was beginning think Champ could go postal at any noon time and shoot up the place with hundreds of witnesses and get away with it. The press would report it as Obama having an informative town hall meeting at rally. Or that he forgot TOTUS.

If you're OK with the Govt collecting and archiving all telephone calls of US citizens without a warrant in the hope it may solve a future crime (albeit terrorism), then why shouldn't they come into every household and catalog and inventory your private possessions and papers under the same premise?

You never listen Jack, it's not about the telephone calls or e-mail the nail.

These come out every time she switches back to chianti.
It was quaint to think we had any privacy left, once Google, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram braided themselves into our days and nights.
Wrong. This is not some alien goop which melded with farmer Joe when he was checking on the horses late one night. Y'all are customers buying what you think is free entertainment and communications when in fact nothing is ever free. In addition to selling billboard space, the real money is in figuring you out by keywords and farmville trades and selling that info to an advertising scheme.

Of course one could always refuse to like anything, or give money to anyone that advertises through Facebook. Or set up multiple accounts so you can create jeckle & hyde patterns in the system.

I wish the little bugger would have not come forward. Now the administration will be spending tons of taxpayer dollars [borrowed from...China] go get him extradited, tried, and convicted. The news will be filled with him, which will provide yet another effective public diversion for the administration.

They'll move him to Gitmo. They're even having trauma on the Left about this. Hard to find even enough koolaid drinkers to fill a jury for conviction. While a show trial would make the Beltway power boys feel good, it'll only undermine both broader and further the legitimacy of the government.
A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
