Twelve suspected foreign militants arrested

[Dawn] Security forces have arrested 12 foreign militants from the border between NWFP and Punjab on Friday.

The militants were arrested from Tarmeen Check Post situated at border of Nwfp and Punjab. The arrested terrorists were coming from Quetta in a Hiace. Out of 12 arrested terrorists, seven belong to Turkey, three from Sudan, one from Iran and one from Russia.

According to the security forces sources, the arrested militants intruded into Pakistan via Iran and they wanted to go to South Waziristan. CDs, computer, USB, Islamic literature and a dagger were also recovered from their possession.

The security forces believe the arrested militants belong to al-Qaeda. The arrested foreign terrorists have been shifted to undisclosed locations where interrogators are investigating them.
